I always called either my mom, a friend who may as well be an LC, and the hospital's LC.
They were all great. My friend was the biggest help since she came over after I got out from surgery and helped me get my supply back up, and she has 12 kids of her own.
I needed a lot of help with my first DD, and saw LLL leaders, a lactation consultant, OT and a few doctors and nurses while I was in the hospital.
With my second, I just needed them to check over her latch and my midwife did that.

When we were in the nicu my midwives came and helped and I got the hospital to bring in the lactation consultant. We weren't really having problems - the very young nurse decided I had flat nipples, I was really engorged and DD wasn't hungry because she had an IV and feeding tube. The LC got them to disconnect all that - and confirmed my nipples were fine and DD was latching well - she just needed to be HUNGRY! (imagine that )
Thank you Kiliki for my first beautiful Siggie!
