I had medicaid with my dd and I had to basically call around to find a dr. that would accept Medicaid. I would suggest opening up your phone book and find midwives and give them a call to see if they accept Medicaid. I don't know anything about NY, but this is just what I would do.

Have you googled? There are a lot of midwife resource homepages that you can search for midwives in your area. You might be able to find one that way. I found mine by googling AND by checking my insurance in-network database. But you already said that was a no go (the database thing)....

Here is a site I found on doing a quick search "New York Midwives" is what I typed in

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

I know here you have to choose a medicaid "provider" or insurance company. Through THAT website I can search for providers. I'm not sure how it works in NY, but there should be a way to search, maybe call the office and ask?

maybe try contacting the ones you have found and see if they have a referral to one closer? Midwives usually work together as a team and will refer each other when they cannot provide the services to you....worth a shot and sicne you've already found some just not the right one....it'd be *my* next shot
