I posted a bit of my recent ordeal in the August DDC board for anyone who is interested. Though we'd been planning a home waterbirth since December, sadly it was not to be.

I won't post a birth story here since the birth turned out to be anything but natural. The only intervention we were able to avoid was a C section(and barely).

It's frustrating, we don't really know what went wrong. Even the doctors can't pin point the problem.

Currently I'm dealing with a bit of post-partum depression, possibly brought on by the birth that didn't happen. Or rather the tramua from what did happen.

On a more positive note we do have a beautiful baby boy. Chauncey Orion was born after 30 hours of hard labor on the 27th. 6lbs 12ozs. There are 2 photos in the Aug DDC thread.

Good luck to all of you ladies in getting the birth you want and having healthy babes.

The best advice I heard when "planning" the birth of my baby was to write it down and then burn it because that is as close to the ideal birth you will probably ever get. Hugs mama. Grieve for the birth you wanted but love each step for what it was because it brought that little baby into your arms. You did good.
