Thought I would introduce myself! My name is Rachel, and I have 1 DD, 16 months, who was born in the hospital. For this pregnancy, DH and I are planning our first home birth! I am due December 25th (yay Christmas baby!) and am getting sooo excited! I love my midwife group and feel so at peace with our decision. My last labor was 7 hrs, back labor, and ended in an epi (that didn't work- boo), so I'm hopeful for a successful drug-free homebirth this time around. Looking forward to joining you all!

Funny story. I was suppose to be a Christmas baby but instead was born late Januray. Of course that was back when they really didn't try to calculate pregnancy.

Welcome! My first daughter's birth sounds similar to your experience with your first- hospital birth, 6.5 hour back labor with epi that didn't relieve the back labor. I went on to have an out-of-hospital natural birth at a freestanding birth center with dd#2 (easy 3.5 hour labor) and a home birth with dd#3 (easy 4 hour labor). I hope you also have an easy home birth with your baby #2.

welcome! Im Bree, like you my first child was born in a hospital, i had a quick labour, 6 hours but ended up getting the epi. Our Second son was born at home, after only 3 hours of labour, it was such a different and amazing experience.

My sister did it about 5 years ago - and it went fine! She was glad she did.
