How was your home birth experience? Wonderful, if we were to have more kids, I would have another home birth without question

Coming out of lurkdom to introduce myself I'm Tasha (29) and I'm currently pregnant with baby number two and am planning a home birth.

How far along are you? 11 weeks today (number two)

How old is your LO? Almost 13 months (number one)

Are you planning on having more children? Nope, this will be the last one

How was your home birth experience? I planned a home birth with my son, however after some bleeding, my midwife asked me to met her at the hospital to check me and bubs before coming home... Hospital was only 10 minutes away and he arrived 7 minutes after getting to the hospital, so we missed our chance to get back home again! We feel bleeding was due to my cervix dilating so fast, and nothing to be concerned about.

If your still pregnant are you excited about your upcoming birth? Any fears bugging you? Only concern is how fast the labour will be (Jacob was less than 3 hours). I want to make sure there is going to be someone to take care of my son and I want both my DH and midwife to make it to the birth!! I live rurally and my MIL and Mum (who will take care of Jacob) are 1.5 hours away.

Are you planning on having more children? Nope. This is our last.
If your still pregnant are you excited about your upcoming birth? Any fears bugging you? I'm partially scared but more excited. I've never been in labor, so I don't know what to expect. I'm SO excited to hold my baby after it's born. Mine have always been taken out and cleaned off, gotten dressed, ect before I got a chance to see them. After that, I've only seen them for a few seconds. It's going to be completely different this time around!!

How was your home birth experience? It was amazing! I will never give birth in a hospital again(unless emergency)

I've been lurking but I love talking home birth. I am 32 and expecting our 4th child in September. This will be our third child born at home. Our first was born in a hospital and it sucked, so, barring any complications, I prefer not to darken the doorstep of an OBs office or hospital again.

How far along are you? 8 weeks

How old is your LO? 6, 4, 22 months

Are you planning on having more children? We're not sure yet. Hubby thinks 4 might be it but I'm not convinced.

How was your home birth experience? The first HB was a little scary because I didn't know what to expect. I fought my body a lot and was afraid. In spite of me, my body worked wonderfully and it was a beautiful birth. The next baby's birth was much quicker and easier. I was in labor for about 4 hours before I had him.

If your still pregnant are you excited about your upcoming birth? Any fears bugging you? Despite being a home birth veteran, I don't really like giving birth. I sought homebirth out of safety, since my oldest's birth was so traumatic. I get a little afraid, not that something will go wrong, I know my body well now, but more thinking about dealing with some of the more unpleasant sensations. I know I will do just fine, but I just look at it as a not so fun task to get through. I think my all day nausea is making me negative. I need to go read some Ina May and get prepared for this.

How old is your LO? My home birth babies are now 4, 3 and 18 months old. I also have a 12, 10 and 6 year old.

Are you planning on having more children? No.

How was your home birth experience? My prior three home births have been great. They have all been very different but wonderful experiences.


If your still pregnant are you excited about your upcoming birth? Any fears bugging you? No fears. I sometimes worry that someone from my birth team won't make it but I know it will all work out the way it is supposed to. I also wish there was a way to snap my fingers and magically keep my house cleaned and picked up.
