I've been lurking here throughout my pregnancy, but haven't posted because my circumstances have been wait and see. I had a midwife offer to support me not knowing how much money I would be able to pay her. I started blogging about my pregnancy to try and raise money for my amazing midwife and I have been able to raise enough money to cover her basic expenses for attending my birth (gas, supplies, assistance, etc).

Aside from the financial aspect of things, I have dealt with pre-eclampsia in two of my pregnancies and have a history of heart problems. So even though I have been attending prenatals with the home birth midwives, I have also been seeing my hospital midwives that I used in my last pregnancy in case my health warranted a need for me to use the hospital. But so far, it looks like this is a healthy pregnancy and I'll be able to birth at home!!! My blood pressure looks great and my heart is steady. Woot! And baby looks pretty fantastic.

I'm getting excited now that I realize this is coming up in the next couple of months. I feel like I need to start nesting or something and get my house ready. Anyhow- wanted to let you ladies know I'll be around. I see lots of familiar faces here.

Welcome! I had my daughter at home in February. I loved having a home birth. There is nothing like cuddling your newborn in your own bed and taking a shower in your own bathroom right after giving birth. So glad things are working out for you!

So happy to hear you are getting your home birth. I've had 3 in the hospital and 1 at home, we plan 2 more children and I won't ever birth in a hospital again Home birth is amazing.
