I'm Jessica, mom to 8 living (6 boys 2 girls), 1 angel (boy) and expecting a girl in February. My youngest child was my first homebirth in Oct 2011 and it was amazing I knew upon becoming pregnant this time that I wanted another HB and found a great midwife.
An hour before my first prenatal appt I started hemorrhaging, it was discovered I had a large subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage and later found out I also had placenta previa. Due to these issues and not knowing if they'd resolve, I decided to go with a CNM as well as see a group of MFM docs. I see the MFM docs every 2 weeks and as of around 20 weeks the previa and SCH are both Gone. So I spoke with the home birth midwife today and we are back ON for a home birth! I'll start seeing her soon at 28 weeks. I couldn't be happier. My children don't know yet but they will be thrilled. When I told them I was going to have this one at the hospital they were devastated, they really enjoyed being present for the last one.
So here's hoping my body and baby both behave for the rest of this pregnancy.
