I do the 20wk scan to check for physical anomalies in case other birthing options need to be made or surgeries etc..

I'll do the GBS, just to appease the MW, but I take care of it naturally if it's +, which it's always been neg so we'll see this time.

And there is some kind of blood work I think I'm going to do for my MW this time just for her records, if not some of the hospitals around here will auto-call CPS if it's not done (then again I'm only going to a hospital in an emergency and that's highly unlikely). Anyway, I can't find the paper that states what that blood test is, will have to get it at next appt.

With my other 5 I got all the tests - never thought to question any of it then. This time around I just got the initial bloodwork done and then at 28 weeks went ahead and reluctantly had an ultrasound just to make sure there was only one baby in there - they went ahead and checked everything else as long as I was there but I told them to make it quick and that we didn't want to know the sex. There have been some recent studies linking excessive ultrasound and brain development issues. The sound waves apparently disrupt the ability of the cells to bond properly during development.

Anyway....not testing for EVERYTHING has actually removed a great deal of stress for me - so I'm sticking with that

With Everett I did a modified glucose, 20 week scan, and gbs.
Payson I did 20 week scan and gbs and a scan at 36 weeks because of a low lying placenta.

I was just reading about the link to ultrasound and cell abnormalties (in general) so nowim nervous, but withthe boys I went into birth blindly. I knew I wantedto go asnatural as posdible always and did go natural, med free with both boys. This time I had an ultra at 6w 5d, to confirm and make sure baby was growing ect. Then I had the 20 wk anatomy scan. For tests I just did the AFP testing and everything tested negative
