I wouldnt consider induction until 43 weeks, and then Id do natural methods first.
I was 41 & 1 days this time, so I know how rough itis, but usually theres a method to the madness! Id rather go over & be miserable than go in and have an inductino & end up with a longer, harder labor that had an increased risk of ending in a cesarean - just me!
Personally, I dont understnad the reason for induction for post dates alone (no sign of problems). Nobodys been pregnant forever, so minus any complications - its just a problem with patience
Considering that a normal pregnancy length is considered from 38-42 weeks, there's absolutely no need to even think of induction until after that point. You aren't technically overdue until after 42 weeks, yet people get the stupid view that after 40 weeks is overdue. I personally wouldn't want to EVER be induced if everything was okay.
