Baby number 4 will be here hopefully in October and I HATE the hospital experience. Can some of you way more experienced in homebirth ladies let me know if there is any way I can do this while being GD?

Do you have GD this time, have you had it in the past, or are you diabetic all the time? I think that most midwives are okay with patients who have GD, at least anyone who's worth having would be. There's no reason that I can think of why a homebirth wouldn't be safe for someone with GD, but then I tend to think of things as being less serious than most people do.

If you couldn't do it with a midwife would you go unassisted?

I dont think I could do it unassisted. I mean Im sure I COULD DO it, but Id be paranoid without someone there with some knowledge of how to handle things.

I am borderline diabetic when I am not pregnant and Gd when I am. Last pregnancy I needed to give myself insulin shots.

Agreed.

My MW's take women with GD. Do you already have a MW? Ask her about it. If not when calling around see what they have to say, I'd bet you'll find most don't have an issue with it.
