When you picture your "perfect" birth how does it play out in your head?

I always visualized mine just like it happened, on all fours in my bathroom only with Greg instead of my mom

My perfect birth would be pretty much what happened with my third. I want my water to break at night, waddle around or lay in bed until things get really painful, and then hop in the birthpool for the rest. My third labour was 2.5 from start to finish, I wouldn't mind that again!!!! My fourth was 11 hours.

I am hoping that this one will be my dream birth!! I will go into labor on my own and just do things around the house until it gets too uncomfortable. Then I will send the kids to the neighbour's with DH while I get in the shower or do something else to manage the pain. Once it gets more painful, I'll hop in the pool in the basement bathroom, I'll only have to push for hopefully half an hour or so, I'll have a perfectly healthy little boy and won't tear. The whole thing will only take a few hours. I think that if I go into labor on my own, everything else will fall into place. I didn't tear with my last baby so I'm hoping that means I won't again.

ETA: Oh yeah, I forgot to include that sometime in there, DH will come back and my midwives will arrive! Silly me!!

My dream birth would be, that my water will fully break instead of just leak for hours and I would not have to be induced (pitocin sucks). I would do finishing touches on the babies room and clean the house some. James would be with me. As things get harder I would get into the birthing pool. Pushing would not last longer then a half hour. My midwife would be available so I would not have to use one of her subs.

Thats about it, I am not sure what we will do with my daughter yet. I guess it depends on what time I go into labor.

Mine was *exactly* what happened with Amelia. I was hoping I'd go into labor in the evening (I did, at 10:30) and labor through the night while Rachael slept, so she'd be at home and I wouldn't have to call the in-laws to come and pick her up. I wanted (and had) my birth pool and my water baby. The only thing I didn't envision - and that made it all the more perfect - was Rachael waking up just in time to see her new sister arrive. And not being the least bit freaked out by it!

pretty much that right there would be my perfect birth, including the big sisters waking up just in time to greet the baby.
