it was yesterday. or was supposed to be. i got a phone call yesterday morning ever-so-politely informing me that i shouldn't have been given an appointment at all, because that doctor doesn't do cerclages! so i called about a zillion different places and could not find anyone to give me an appointment. the search was greatly complicated by two things: one, i only have insurance til the 31st. i'll have great insurance in march, but it's too long to wait for me. second, i am a rape survivor and cannot have a male ob unless he is willing to sedate me for the pelvic exam. nobody i talked to was willing to do that, i kept getting told to just find a woman, but it appears the only women in the area who do the surgery won't take my insurance.
so i called my m/w, who is attempting to get an appointment for me, but if they won't listen to that, she's going to have me come in and declare it an emergency so they HAVE to see me. hopefully i'll get a phone call soon.
Jen I really like the idea of your midwife taking you in and declaring an emergency! THat is such a good idea and I know it has to be stressful trying to find a female who takes your insurance in your area. It can be such a run around! KUP!
Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time, that really stinks. Hooray for midwives to the rescue, though - if all else fails, at least she has a way to get it done! Let us know what happens...and try not to stress yourself out over it. Easier said than done, I bet. (((hugs))) for you!
