It went well, and was pretty uneventful. I showed her where I wanted to have the baby, the bathroom and the laundry room. She went over some paperwork with me. Mainly just consent forms. We talked about when to call her, since she is 80 miles away. She doesn't do internal exams until I am in labor, so I have no idea if I am progressing. The babies heart rate was in the high 130's to low 140's. She gave me a list of things I need to get for the birth. All in all it was a good appointment.

Glad it went well! I prepared myself to death for my first home visit too, and it was also pretty anticlimactic...sorry yours wasn't more exciting either.
My midwife didn't do internal checks until I was in labor either...well, she said she would if I wanted her to (I never did) and even while I was in labor, she said she wouldn't if I was uncomfortable with it. In the end, she only checked me once, at 6 cm. Her feelings (especially before labor began) were that she didn't want me to get excited if I was dilated, or discouraged if I wasn't...which makes perfect sense to me.
So when is your next appointment?
