My shower is a week from Saturday and I'm getting very excited but also really nervous. This has kind of turned into a huge production.... I've tried to stay as far away from the planning as possible. I'm not a huge fan of being the center of attention (which people find weird because I'm a musician and a conductor) but I'm not and when I conduct..... my back faces the audiance. Is it normal to have a 60+ person shower when it's 1)a Jack and Jill Shower, 2)All three sets (my DH parents are divorced) parents invited people too and 3) my parents invited the entire church (still don't have these numbers) because they wanted to throw me another shower and I begged them not too (I just don't have time) and just invite people to this one.
I guess my biggest fear is looking greedy..... and I really don't care if everyone comes without a gift.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I wasn't a member 33 weeks ago so I think now is as good a time as any to say it. Anyway, it is fine to have a 60+, especially for a jack and jill shower and the fact that you have 3 sets of parents inviting people. I have heard of just women showers reaching 70 to 80 guests (and that is just women, could you imagine what the guestlist with the spouses too would be?). Enjoy the day and don't worry. You didn't plan it so the number of people are out of your hands. Everyone who comes will know that and will just be happy to be there.
All the best and have fun at the shower.
