My SIL did not want anything too "baby-ish" at her baby shower. So, as the shower is the weekend before Halloween we're just using the colors orange, green, and purple. If we absolutely have to have some kind of design on something, then we can add a pumpkin.
It's actually coming together very nicely!
I have flower pens in a pot as centerpieces (flowers are orange and purple). I also made big diaper cupcakes for centerpieces with orange, green, and purple decorations on them.
Diaper cake is done in the 3 colors, but I had to add some little critters. The baby is a boy, so I added wooden figures in a: frog, turtle, worm, and spider. For the top of the cake, I've seen rubber duckies, but that really goes against the theme of the shower AND the cake. But, I found a bathtub faucet cover (to protect little kid's head from injury if they hit it) in the shape of an adorable frog! So, that's going on top...and is very practical too for after the diapers are all used up.
I've never been to a baby shower with only a color theme so I'm really looking forward to this one!
