- The Princess and the Pea
For this game, print out a copy of the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea" (or buy a book to give to the mom-to-be!). Have one small wrapped gift for each person who RSVP'd to the party (make sure to have a couple of extra for surprise guests). These can be candy bars, miniature vases, something inexpensive. Have the guests sit in a circle and pass one gift out to each guest. Have the mom-to-be read the fairy tale, and each time the word "Princess" is read, the guests all pass their gifts to the right. At the end of the story, your guests will open whichever gift they are holding.
- Baby Food Taste Test
Buy 6-8 jars of baby food (make sure to get peas!) and cover the labels with aluminum foil or colored paper (make sure you can't see the label through it...). Label each jar with a number or letter. Provide a note card or small sheet of paper for your guests and a paper or pen so they can write down their guesses. Provide sample spoons (1 per guest per jar for health safety) and have the guests taste each baby food. Have them write their name and their guesses for each jar (make sure they included the label AND the guess so you can check to see if they are right!). The person with the most right answers at the end of the tastings receives a small prize.
