Not sure if you ladies do intro's but thought I would do one now that I have posted a little.
I'm Kristin, 28, my husband is Gus - he is in the Marine Corps. We are pregnant with our first and due Oct 29th. So I am only in my 14th week, but having my shower early. We are stationed in California and all of my family and friends are in New Jeresy (where I grew up).
I came home for a break and to get out of my house (I currently don't work and we live in the middle of no where, so I tend to be stuck in the house a lot). I also wanted to attend my SIL's bridal shower and give my mom the chance to throw me a baby shower. I know it was something important to her, and this was really the only time it would work. My brother and SIL are getting married in June, so that month is out for my shower and at that point I will be 20 weeks. And my mom doesn't want me travelling alone after that point. So we opted to do it now.
In addition, a complication was discovered the day before I flew out here. I have a very large cyst in my abdomen that has been growing for about 2 years (I just thought I was fat!) and will be having a procedure done when I return to Cali to remove/drain it. And we are not sure if the specialist will allow me to travel for the remainder of my pregnancy, so I might miss my brother's wedding. Its a good thing I was already planning on coming home for this break and my doc let me come. He was hesitant to let me.
