i wasnt sure if this was the right place to post this but i see you all have great ideas so i thought it wouldnt hurt.
i am planning a party in mid-october. (i'm due in august). i have a 5 year old son and so far we have been able to keep everything very fair between him and the baby on the way. ashton is moving rooms so he got all new furniture and room stuff and the baby got a nursery. but i felt a little guilty about having a party just for baby and then after the baby is born family will come just to see him. so i'm going to throw a party while family is in town in october that is a combination meet the baby/yay! ashton is a big brother party. someone in my ddc suggested calling it a meet my little brother party. ashton said he likes that idea. he would invite all his friends and we would invite adults as well.
i want to have games that are big brother themed. someone in my ddc suggested pin the baby on the big brother which i thought was really cute and creative. anyone have any ideas for any other games? just kid themed games. we will probably have a table for decorating cookies. i thought we needed a couple more games. we also have a bounce house so i figured we could set that up.
i think we are bbqing since the weather should be okay. so food is all taken care of.
how do you think i should do the invites. i'm planning to get some return labels with ashtons name on them since it is his party. should i have ashton make them?
i'm just wanting to have all this planned so i dont have to worry about it in october.
i'm also trying to think of favors to give out. probably just for the kids. maybe just something kid themed? like matchbox cars for the boys and something girly for the girls?
btw...i'm rebecca...mommy to ashton (5) and expecting another boy (talan) due august 21. thanks all!!! i really appreciate all the help.
For the invitations, you could have Ashton draw a pic of him and the baby, then get it scanned into the computer and print it as the front of the invitation.
Games, center the games on Ashton and his friends. Play things that they would like to play. Like cars, a little scavenger hunt (you could do baby and big boy items on this!!), and other things like that.
