Target changed their return policy recently. If you don't have a gift reciept, it's going to be very hard to do an exchange. They only allow 2 returns/exchanges a year now and they track it with your ID. That's the reason why I didn't bother registering there.

Send a message via Yahoo to Mom2Nat&Ry
I know if you return stuff to Wal-Mart and don't have a receipt, they put it on a gift card.

Actually they changed their policy. My friend is a Target Manager and she was telling me not to register there because of the new policy. They ONLY allow exchanges with a gift receipt. If you have no receipt you don't get anything, not even and in store exchange. You are simply stuck with the product you don't need. She use to be able to give gift cards but not anymore. She said she feels so bad turning moms away with stuff they have duplicates of or things they just don't want/need.

Hope that helps.

thats horrible. its actually pretty lame. I mean.. sometimes you can't help that people don't ask or forget the gift receipt.

That's good to know....I just started creating my wish list at Target yesterday, even though we don't know yet what we're having, so I have two of everything on there. I started checking out Babies R Us too since I'm not really sure where I want to register yet, but if Target makes things difficult, Babies R Us might be better. Plus Babies R Us has a lot more baby clothes to choose from...at least online anyway.
