The H1N1 flu vaccination clinics are opening up again on Thursday. They will be only vaccinating kids 6 months - 5 years for the time being, then opening the clinics up to pregnant women as well on Friday. Hopefully this means the line up won't be too long, but I'll be going early in the morning to get my kids a spot. This flu makes me nervous, so I'll feel better once they're vaccinated!

On another note, I went ahead and made another pedi appt for Jonah. Earliest appt was the 18th. He's been on the nasal spray for 2 weeks now and it has helped his chronic runny nose.. he's still coughing though. He was awake several times in the night coughing. I think another asthma diagnosis is not far from our future.

So glad you are going to get the clinics to get the vaccine. I hope the appointment goes well let us know. That is good the runny nose is stopping. That will help with the cough I am sure.

Both kids got their vaccinations today! I'm so glad they revamped the way the clinics were being held, it was a lot better! No waiting in line for 6 hours! I'll feel officially better in 10-14 days when they build up some antibodies. Jonah has his allergist appt tomorrow, so I'll update that when we get home. Hope everyone is healthy.

That is so great that they made it better and you got the kids their shots. Can't wait to hear what the allergist says.

Tacii how are the kids doing with the vaccine? Did they get sick, run fevers? I hope they are doing great.

They're both doing well, thanks for asking! Jonah ran a fever for a day and Hannah had a sore. That's about it though!

So excited you were able to get their vaccines! Hope we have the same luck here this week! Keep us posted on Jonah's appointment, his symptoms sound like cough variant asthma which is what my Alex has. Hopefully it's not, but I understand how frustrating that cough can be!

Thanks! I hope you guys are able to get the vaccine, fingers crossed! I'll definitely keep you posted on his appointment next week. I hope it'll be more productive than his allergist appointment was His skin testing was essentially "inconclusive", he had some tiny little reactions that the allergist said he couldn't really say whether they were positive. Regardless, he said that tree pollen, dog and cat were potential allergens for him. Oh.. and the best part. He said that he would lean towards Jonah having a cold and that's why he has a chronically runny nose and nocturnal/early morning cough. Uh huh.. ok.

Nice. I love allergists. Okay not really. LOL. We got the same answers when Alex had his skin testing, everything was "inconclusive". But they told he did have lots of "allergen cells" on his nasal swab, whatever that means. Basically he has triggers, we just haven't been able to figure them out yet!

So he chronically has a cold? That sounds like bunk to me. But I am not an overpaid dr either . I hope the appointment yields more answers. KUP.

That was my same reaction. A chronic cold for the whole summer? Seems kinda unlikely. He said that kids his age can have up to 8 colds a year, so what we're seeing are probably colds. I stopped listening after he said that. My kid has been chronically congested/runny since he was a baby, I seriously doubt he's just sick all the time.

Yeah I kind of have a hard time believing that he has a runny nose 365 days a year and there is no other reason other than a cold.... Stupid Dr. How is his "cold" doing now?

The nasal spray seems to be working a bit, his nose isn't as runny anymore but he is still congested and coughing. I wonder if he has enlarged adenoids?
