I'm popping in from the March 08 PR with a question.

I'm curious...for those who have children with asthma...do you or your child's father have asthma?

I did do some googling and I found an article here that says it can be related to genetics, but not necessarily. Is asthma "running" in your family?

Hey lisa (liza, from march 08 too, but my son has RAD/asthma) I had childhood asthma that I pretty much fully outgrew by the time I was in high school. I'm hoping that timmy will outgrow it too!

No, we do not. There are a few distant relatives in the family who have asthma, but DDs asthma is almost certainly related to her premature birth.

We don't have asthma or childhood asthma. But there is some link to genetics. A few other ladies on the board have either themselves or DH has had asthma. So I think its can go both ways. Just more common if it runs in the family.

My DH had asthma as a child and it went away..

On my side of the family, almost everyone on my Filipino side has asthma.. My cousin in the Philippines has a son who went through the same thing my son is going through. So, I think A.J's health issues is from my side of the family.
