Have your all's lo's had enlarged tonsils yet no strep or tonsilitis????? Frederick's are really really red and very enlarged but no infections. The asthma/allergist wants us to go see his ENT about them.
Danny's are always slightly enlarged and red. I don't remember the word he used for it. It is allergy related. The way we tell Danny's allergy "tonsillitis" (just means swollen tonsils literally) from a bacterial or viral infection is by the size of his glands. If his glands are enlarged it is an infection.
Tonsils and edenoids are usually done together...in the medical field it is called a T&A because of that. It may not help with allergies in general but it may help with the breathing because if they are swelling enough to constrict his airway in general that is bad with asthma anyway...
That's what Dr. Feger said. (His allergist/asthma dr.) That Frederick was breathing harsher because his tonsils were enlarged and very red. Between his nose being stuffed/congested and that.. he said it's no wonder he keeps coughing a bunch.
