Well, Frederick took a turn for the worst around 11 pmish tonight. I took him into Kosair's ER and he was diagnosed with croup, a bad URI, and his asthma flairing up. You can definitely hear wheezing after he coughs and tries to pull air back in.

They gave him a steriod there and I *hope* he'll be feeling better soon. His nose is swollen and severely stuffed up so he's breathing through his mouth.

His oxygen level flucuated between 89-93. They told me to follow up with his doctor, had me give him a round of albuterol, and to make sure I follow up with his asthma dr.

Here we go again......

I am so sorry hon. They didn't keep him with O2 sats that low? Here they keep them if they stay under 95. Did they go up with the albuterol?

They don't admit at the ER I took him to. It's a new one with an ER but it's also mostly an inpatient/outpatient surgury for children. It's a new Children's Hospital.

He's been on albuterol every 30 minutes now until tomorrow. Then he has a follow-up with his pediatrician.

Me too. He's got green stuff just draining out his nose.

I think this all stems from that bad congestion he had a few weeks ago and I tried everything to get it out of him.

Then he got pink-eye and yellow/green stuff came out his eyes draining.

Then he got that bad cough.

Now croup and a bad URI.

He's sleeping now. But you should see the dark circles under his eyes.

If not for the asthma then yeah. I'd question it. But it's actually in accordance with his asthma care plan filled out by his Asthma Specialist.

Luckily, he has an appointment tomorrow with his pediatrician at 11. Though i'm going to be switching pediatricians June 1st to these: Oldham County Pediatrics

At night.

His pediatrician wrote a prescription for erythromicin (spelling). She said he still has croup and the URI.

That he can go back down to every 3-4 hrs now with pulmicort 2x a day.

Me too. I think the croup is gone, but he still has an asthma cough fit. I wish I could figure out what would help him.

Its obvious the asthma nor his allergies are under control. We go back in to his specialist come next month- thankfully.

Glad to hear the croup seems to be gone. I hope the specialist you see next month can get stuff under control.

Thanks. *hugs* He's coughing still. But I think the change in the weather and all the rain isn't helping things.
