Well, he's sick once again. I don't know what it is, so I'm about to bundle him up and take him to the dr. He's got a fever of 101 and says his throat hurts, ear hurts, and chest hurts. He's also been coughing a lot. He wakes up coughing.
Sorry I didn't update till now. He slept all day yesterday after we got back. His fever broke right before bed which was good.
At Kosair, his oxygen levels were at 94. So they gave him a steroid then a breathing treatment. After that, his oxygen came back up to 97 which was good.
His fever was still going strong and they gave him some tylenol to bring it down. It took awhile but it finally dropped from 101 down to 100 which was better.
They did a strep test on him which came back negative. They think the croup tried to come back plus his asthma wasn't helping it. The coughing really hard, kept triggering his asthma.
Luckily, the steroid they gave him calmed his asthma down. And they said it'll keep the croup at bay which is good.
They said, his immune system is just worn out from the croup and an actual URI on top of that has made it so its hard for him to fight off allergy things plus the croup coming back.
They did tell us to follow up with his Asthma dr and mentioned that we might need to go see a pulminary specialist if it comes back again. Luckily, Dr. EID is a good one and he helps a lot of kids with asthma.
So, we came home and he slept all day after that.
Of course now, he's acting fine today except for the coughing. Luckily, he doesn't return to school till tuesday so he has an extra day to bring his defense back up.
Anyways, tuesday I'll be calling Dr. Feger and his pediatricia and getting a referral to take him to see Dr. Eid.
