Hello, I am losing my mind with all of this asthma stuff! My son is 14months old and has been sick almost constantly for the past 6 months. He has had numerous upper respitory infections, chest congestion, wheezing,, multiple accounts of bronchitis, pneumonia. As soon as he gets better for a couple days, he catches something else, and he's not in daycare. Luckily we haven't had to go into the er for an asthma attack, but We are at the pediatrician weekly! His pediatrician labeled him as asthma 2 months ago and we are treating him for it. He gets budesonide treatments twice a day, albuterol 3 times, singular, Zyrtec, and benedryl only at night. He has also had acid reflux since birth. We are scheduled to see a lung specialist in two weeks. I'm praying that he will have some answers for us. Is this really asthma?? My poor baby doesn't even know what it's like to be completely healthy and it is killing me, it is exhausting on both of us! I feel like the pediatrician can't give me any answers unless it consists of giving him antibiotics, which he has been on many times. If anyone has any advice for us, even if its for me to keep my sanity until we meet with the specialist, I would REALLY appreciate it!!!
I just saw this and am so sorry that you didn't get any responses earlier! By now you've been to the specialist. Did you get any answers? I know how you feel since 2 of my sons had all kinds of allergy stuff when they were little. Very frustrating, especially when doctors don't have answers, just more meds! Let us know how things are going now!
