A member on my Nov board mentioned that her doc or pharmacist told her to give her daughter the Singulair he prescribed at night because it made them drowsy.

Joshua has been on it for months and I don't notice that ...and never heard of doing it at night. Did you guys get that instruction?

I'm not too worried about it cuz its working for him and we don't see any side effects so we'll keep doing it like we have been ... but I was curious!

My son is also on Singulair and we were told to give it to him at night. It doesn't seem to make him sleepy though. I think it is working for the most part. He has been on it for about 2 yrs. I think!

Our allergist told us to take Singulair at night for asthma because it helps them sleep through the night without coughing, where taking it in the morning leaves it to wear off during the night letting symptoms kick in before they should wake up. So, maybe not that it makes them drowsy, but that they sleep better because they can breathe.

DS and I both take Singulair at night. Occasionally DS falls asleep early (5-6 pm) and misses his dose. I notice a big difference in his quality of sleep.

I have heard it COULD cause sleepiness. Marissa takes hers in the evening with supper so it is not a big deal if she gets a little sleepy after that, though I have not noticed any difference in her activity.
