Hi, Im Heather and i am still nursing my 15 month old, and im also pregnant so i need some support b4 i go crazy lol!! My son is up every 2-3 hrs a night breastfeeding and also as many times during the day that u let him. He also east a significant amount of reg food, he actually well out eats my almost 4 year old daughter. I have considered weaning but i would love to let him self wean but its getting to be too much now!
Welcome! I think that I noticed around the end of first trimester that my milk changed. My daughter said it tasted like cheese. Possibly your son wont like that and reduces his nursing. Your milk may also decrease making it less worth the effort. My DD still nurses but not nearly as much as before... then again she's also bit older.
As for the nights, would you like to try to night wean? I think I started limiting DD around that age (she'd sleep with the breast if I had let her but that meant no sleep for me). I'd let her nurse for 10 minutes and after that the breasts went to sleep. She was upset the first few times but eventually agreed. I found the breasts sleeping to be quite a nice way to decrease her nursing, it was something she understood.

I hope my milk changes and he doesnt like it!! As for the night nursing, he only is on each side for 5 mins each at night but its still a pain to get up out of bed go to his room feed him for 10mins than do it again in 2hrs! I wouldnt mind if he nused b4 bed than slept atleast half thew the night, but its literaly every 2-3 hrs everynight!
It's hard when it's during the night and they're older. Maddie night weaned around 14 months and by that time I was so ready for a full night of sleep. Mak weaned herself when I was around 8wks pg with Maddie. My milk really changed and she didn't like it. Maybe try night weaning and see what happens. Sleep is priceless, especially when pg.
