Hello, ladies! We are currently TTC now! If we catch the first egg, Caleb will be about 10 months old. I DO NOT want to dry up for as long as possible during the pregnancy, so I will be pumping, eating oatmeal EVERY DAY, drinking gallons of water, you name it.

I think I've asked this here before, but I didn't get much response, so I'm asking again for people who've tandem nursed or nursed through a pregnancy to give me as much advice as possible! Is fenugreek safe to consume during pregnancy? Is it as effective? If you did dry up during pregnancy, about how long into the pregnancy were you?

TIA!

Hi! Sorry I missed the previous post...I barely get to jump on JM at all when school gets moving!

I got my BFP when my daughter was nearly 11 months old and my son was born when she was 19.5 months old. I did end up drying up, as far as I could tell, around 12ish weeks. She nursed all the way through in spite of that. And, once my colostrum came in she had a peak in nursing(around 28 weeks I want to say, could have been later???). I do not know for sure about fenugreek but I want to say that I remember hearing that it was not safe...maybe someone else can answer that better.

I did not enjoy nursing while pregnant whatsoever. I know some moms enjoy it, some just endure it, and some absolutely abhor it. I was one of those!! It was misery to me and I would not ever get pregnant while nursing again. Just want to shoot you straight!! I do love that we have made it through though! My daughter is now over 3 and my son is 18 months old...both still going strong and getting the good stuff. I love that! I had set my mind up to nursing my daughter to 2 and I did not let my "oops" baby Owen stop that goal!

Make sure you hop on and share that BFP when it happens!!! Oh and if you have more questions, feel free to PM me!

Woops!!!!!! The second part of that post was intended for the Breastfeeding board!! I just copy and pasted my post to double-post here! Sorry! I've never actually posted here before, but I will be soon as Caleb approaches his first birthday! I want him to self-wean.

And thanks so much! I started getting colostrum around 16 weeks pregnant with Caleb (my first pregnancy), so I hope that it happens that quickly with this baby, too, so that Caleb stays interested.

I won't take fenugreek, but I'll try pumping and such to help increase my supply.

My 1st daughter was 4 months when I got pregnant with my second daughter. I nursed all the way through without too many problems. I don't think my milk dried up at all but I think that is due to how young my daughter was. 37 months later we are still tandem nursing.

Good Luck TTC!

Thank you! Reading each experience is scary. I read from some ladies who dry up within the first couple months of pregnancy, and then I read from women like you who don't dry up at all. I really won't know how it goes until I'm pregnant. I hope that he doesn't wean just because of pregnancy.
