DD just turned 2 and we have sucessfully been nursing since day one. I cut it down to 3 times a day around 8 months and now we are just doing naps and bed but I can not keep the weight on! I was 117 before I got preggo, then got to 113 6 weeks pp. I am now 111 and really, I look too thin. Id rather cut out her nap time session instead of looking for high fat diets.

She might fuss alittle but is totally willing to take a sippy of soy/oat whatever we have avail but I just feel like if I drop her in her crib with her cup and leave im missing out on that bonding time. She is too antsy to be held while she has her cup so im not sure what else to do. Thoughts?

i recently cut back to 1 session as well (bedtime). it was easy for me b/c we were nursing in the morning and i leave for work before he even gets up. on weekends he still asks to nurse in the morning sometimes, but i just tell him that he's a big boy and that "milka" is for night time only. he doesn't even fuss and happily takes a sippy of milk. it's true that the bonding time decreases. i really miss being able to see him in the mornings. now i put him to bed in the evening and don't see him til 6pm the following day! but i was ready to start the weaning process, and we make up for the bonding time in other ways (cuddling on the couch on weekends, playing outside, etc). i also hear you on the weight issue. i got down to 112 at my lowest and have steadily put back on 2-3 lbs with each nursing session that we dropped. i'm almost back up to my pre-pregnancy weight!

Cool, I hope I'll gain at least 3 lbs.
