Hi ladies! I wanted to introduce myself as I could use some support in this area. I can't believe it took me this long to realize JM had a forum for Bfeeding... and then for bfeeding past 1 yr!

Anyway, I'm Nan. (Nancy) LO is Kali and she will be 2 in Feb. When I got preggo I never thought I'd bf but I educated myself and learned the benefits so I gave it a whirl. I set my goals low a couple weeks, then a month, then 2, then 6 months, and here I am still going strong. I've had some people against it from the beginning but they're learning to just not say anything.

I've never known anyone to bfeed this long and although I wouldn't mind continuing, if that's what LO wants, it would be much easier if I didn't have to nurse at naps and maybe i'm used to all that society pressure that she's too old I dunno!? She's a really outspoken toddler who throws tantrums and tries to lift up my shirt in public. It's hard but i'm sure you all know this.

welcome!! i love our la leche group, it is the only place i have seen people bf toddlers (up to 5yo!).

Thanks for the welcome.... ya know i've been to the website but didn't know people actually met in local groups through la leche. How do you find a group/join? I have some friends who I met at the hospital support group but they stopped around 1 year. Nursing a toddler is pretty tough.
