I need some help with a nursing issue with my 2 year old little girl, I'm seriously considering weaning if I can't change things.
Almost every time she nurses she's been digging her teeth in. She's not biting, but it's very uncomfortable and is leaving deep marks. I tried changing position, how I'm holding her, I've been telling her what she's doing and stopping her from nursing for a short time afterwards. Nothing seems to work. She is finishing up teething, so that could have something to do with it.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with something like this?
TIA!

we have (and often still do) gone thru the same thing, it is poor latch, you have to make her OPEN WIDE and really latch on. DD does this ALL THE TIME and i have to unlatch her and remind her. It kills, i know your pain!

My DD only does this when she's teething. I bet that's what it is. Hopefully it will pass soon!

That's great to know! Why do you suppose her latch suddenly went bad like that?

This only happens to me when my little guy decides watching tv is more important, lol, and trys to nurse at the same time. He'll turn or twist and thats when I can feel his teeth, not biting, but defintely still painful.

It sounds like you are already doing what you need to be doing: unlatch, tell her that her teeth are hurting you, and then resume after a short break. Hopefully she will catch on soon.
