Hi there!! My name is Kristy and I currently have 3 children 11, 6 and 23 months!! I just found out I was pregnant and what prompted/convinced me to test was the lack of nursing from Abigail. Only the 6 y/o is biological and he and the baby took awhile to conceive, I NEVER thought I'd get pregnant w/o trying

Now, here we are and I have noticed some VERY minimal spotting and LOTS of cramping, just wondering if this is normal?? And how many have successfully nursed though a pregnancy and then tandem nursed. With each child we always chose certain things we would not change (i.e. co-sleeping) as to make the new baby transition more smooth. And w/ this one I don't want to stop nursing, unless she self weans!!!

She is after about 5 days back to her nursing self!!

Kristy.

I had spotting and cramping at the beginning of my pregnancy and it was from dehydration and breastfeeding during a heat wave. The ER doctor said it was fine for me to keep breastfeeding as long as I hydrated because the baby's heartbeat was strong, good measurements, etc. I would definitely let your O.B. know about your symptoms ASAP though just to make sure you're in the clear.
I am still breastfeeding my daughter now and so far so good but I have to keep really hydrated. I will warn you that I felt VERY drained at the beginning of this pregnancy way more than with DD. My baby isn't due for a few months so I have no idea what I'm going to do if she hasn't self-weaned yet! lol

I nursed through a pregnancy. I didnt have any issues with it. The only time I even got a contraction from it was when I was 41 weeks pregnant and nursing that morning put me into labor. I've been tandem nursing for over 18 months. It is tiring a times but has definatly been worth it for us.
