I got AF one time when Joshua was 7 months and since then, it has been sporadic. I had light spotting for three weeks, then one week of nothing, then a few days of spotting. I took a pregnancy test and it was so I am guessing my hormones are just off. When did you guys get a regular AF or have you gotten it back at all?

I got af back when Ethan was 10 mos old. Skipped month 11, but then ovulated for the first time when he was a year old and have had them on time ever since.

I got mine back last month....when Andrew was 14 months. I ovulated and everything last month. I should be starting just anytime now if I'm on any kind of regular schedule. We shall see!!

Af has been really odd for me since Nathalia, I first got ios when she was 9 months I think and then 2 cycles were 28 days apart and then my next 3 were really long and then the last 2 were 30 days apart.

I haven't gotten it back since having Daniel yet. With Kaitlyn, I had her in January, went a whole year and a half to the next August, had it that month, and then didn't have it again until I quit BFing her, it was March I think.

I'd say expect your periods to be sporadic for awhile. But still test if you feel like it's been too long since it doesnt hurt to check. With my last nursling, my cycles started up at 12 months but didn't come every month and I was often "late." A few times I tested and it was negative, then I got so used to missing periods that I just stopped testing. But then or course a few months went by with no period and I finally decided to take a test and sure enough I was 10 weeks along! This time my current nursling is 16 months old and my cycles still have not returned, but she is still night nursing which I think is delaying my fertility.

I think if you're nursing around the clock then 12 months is about average for return of fertility, but of course could be sooner or much later. Part of it depends on how often baby is nursing, if you supplement, etc... But it's totally normal and natural. It's the way Mother Nature intended so that we could have enough time for our bodies to recover from pg/childbirth and time for baby to grow before our fertility returns and we can get pregnant again.

20 months post partum after my first, and 16 months post partum after my second. Felicity just turned a year, and no sign of it anywhere.
