In honor all the work DH has done today:

Is your DH a handyman or do you have to hire someone for home repairs?

Haha Mark is sooooooo not handy. I think I've put more shelves together and hammered more nails into the wall than he ever will. I'm not handy either, but dang...at least I try! If we need something done, his dad is real handy. Guess he didn't get the handy gene.

As you can guess by the first part of the original post, DH is very handy. He was done the following in our house flooring, framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, and electrical.

We live in an apartment so all of the household repairs are done by the handyman but DH is really handy when it comes to auto repair and he can do household repairs (he replaced my parents' bathroom floor when we were there on vacation over the summer).

My DH is a mechanic and can do pretty much anything on cars. When it comes to the house he's sometimes out of his element but he still tries until he succeeds. In the last house we had, our water heater went out, we had plumbing problems with septic pipes and he had to re plumb our kitchen sink. All of which he'd never done before, but he did such a great job I never would have known had he not told me that he was kind of doing it blindly. lol. He's amazing!

Haha! Funny you should ask because DH and I just had this conversation:

I have to threaten to hire someone to do the job before he will actually be a handyman and get busy!

It gets pretty funny sometimes!

Sam can fix/do anything. He has taken out/put in carpet, installed tile floor, installed wood flooring, he will soon be turning a big empty room off our room into a bathroom by himself, he has done all the plumbing in the kitchen, drywalled, plus he does all the mechanical work on both our trucks, all our tractors, the combine, the wiring in the barn, and tore out the dryer in the grain bin and put a new one in (to hire that done would have been $14,000, it cost him $5000!)
