My sister in law & I were talking about credit cards & debt and how far people seem to be digging themselves into a hole with them lately, so it got me wondering...
Do you have a credit?
Do you use it on a regular basis?
What kind of stuff do you purchase with it?
If you don't have one, how do you pay for things?
Do you wish you had one?
DH & I have 1 in case of emergency & to book things (travel, hotels, etc), but if we can't afford to pay it off right away then we don't use it. Even for our wedding we never once used the credit cards. Everything gets paid cash or we don't get it until we can afford it. Right now I'm happy to say there's a $0 balance owing on it

I have two cards and DH has one. We don't really use them but one of mine has wedding stuff on there (favors and part of the honeymoon i believe) which is almost paid off. It took so long cuz stupid chase kept finding one way or another to charge me misc. fees that i had to keep fighting. The other card of mine has a couple pieces of artwork charged on it that DH and i recently bought so that one is a few thousand DH's card only has a $20 or $25 balance on it just to keep it "active". He uses it once a month on something like gas or food.

Had 3, dont have them anymore...closed accounts and told them where to stick it basically.
We pay via cash or from our debit cards or money orders.
Dont miss my credit cards. Dont miss the annoyance and headaches they brought with them(and the fear when you cant pay them back cuz of economic struggles).

No active cards at all. If it's not in the bank we don't get it. We have cancelled cards that are being paid down.

We don't have that many. Just an Old Navy card and the balance is pretty low. I don't want anymore than that.

No credit cards. Pay cash for everything! It's great to see a lot of us using cash only!

WOW I'm surprised by how many of us are using cash & foregoing the credit cards. It's great to see.

None that we use. We are paying them off but haven't used them to buy anything to about 12-18 months.

The wife and I both have credit cards, so much easier than having to worry if we have enough in the bank all the time (that sounds bad, but we always pay off our credit within a month, we're a $145k combined household xD).

We do have a few (we each have two seperate ones) but rarely use them. Usually to buy gas, pay mortage, something we already have the cash set aside for and can pay off right away. I like having them on hand for if we have some big purchase we need to amke right away. We have an emergency fund, but ya know, something could happen and we could need more than is there.

Do you have a credit? I have a debit mastercard linked to my bank account
Do you use it on a regular basis? No, only when something requires a CC number
What kind of stuff do you purchase with it? things online mainly
If you don't have one, how do you pay for things? With my own money, we save up and dont buy things we dont -need- we are quite strict on what is a need and a want. If worse comes to worse I can use the debit and put it into credit, and sort it out with the bank at a later date, I did it when I had to go into hospital, and they were very understanding and worked out a nice payment plan with me (benefits of being a long time customer at a small bank)
Do you wish you had one? No. Our strictness over needs and wants comes from DH still paying off his $40,000 debt he accumulated on a CC when he was 18

Nope! We have none, don't want any, and we pay with debit or cash. If we don't have the money, we don't buy it. End of story. Lol.

Do you have a credit? yes
Do you use it on a regular basis? not really anymore
What kind of stuff do you purchase with it? dentist appointments, other large purchases that we have the money in the bank for but its a "rebate card" so once a year I get a certain (small) percentage of my purchases from the previous year paid off by my credit card company Last month I got $150, and the year I had my wedding I got $400
If you don't have one, how do you pay for things? Almost everything is in cash
Do you wish you had one? n/a

I use my credit card, anything that doesn't fall into my weekly cash budget goes on it (gas/dentist/etc) but I always pay the balance.

We have one emergency card. We do not use credit cards. If we want something then we pay for it out right or we save until we can afford.
