I'll put it this way. My dream home is in the country. It doesn't have to be a huge house - just a nice size with a good chunk of property underneath it. I love space and trees and want dogs and to be able to have bonfires if I want. I want it to be able to see the stars at night. I want a nice, spacious grilling area. I want a riding lawn mower.
I am *not* a city girl. I never have been. I can see the convenience of being able to walk everywhere, but that kind of life is just not for me. I like my space and I hate big city traffic.

Small town for sure. Population of my little town is 780 people. Nearest town is only 12 miles away with a population of 20,000. But to go shopping for clothes and more it is an hour drive to a town of 100,000. I love small town living - actually country living. From my front porch and back porch you cannot see a single house. You cannot even see my house from the road. I love it!

Small town with a few big city type amenities.

small town and big city. both have pros and cons. im more small town than big city though. our house is in the country, in the middle of a field actually. i love it. room for my kids to run and play and all the things that kids love, bugs(for my son) fireflies in the summer(my daughter adores them) no streetlights so when its dark its dark! bonfires in the backyard. our house is 156 years old and i love it.

Small town. I live in a town of 30,000 and it's just the perfect size.

I would love to live in a small town, it has always been a goal of mine actually. Lol. But I love the conveniences of living in a big city.

Mmm i think i'd prefer something in the middle. I'm from Long Island, NY and that's not city life but it's not country either. But i'm used to having things right down the road or a quick drive away. Here where I'm at in FL things aren't so close and it sorta drives me nuts sometimes.

Small town with big city amenities. Is that possible? I want the best of both worlds I guess. I like living in small towns but like to have access to things to do and shopping areas.

Coming from a small town of 800 people I laugh at 20,000 being small town.
I prefer small town with near by stuff. At least a grocery store and places to eat and Target within 20 minutes.

After growing up in LA, I'm all over this small town lifestyle. There's maybe 18-20,000 people in the area we live and it's about perfect!

Ditto! I grew up my whole life in a very small town and we didn't have direct access to the grocery store and other things. We had to travel 30 to 45 minutes away. I hated it. I love the small town feel and I think it is perfect to raise kiddos, but I need to shop to!! lol

I live in Metro Detroit and am quite happy to be back here. I lived up north for 5 years where the city I lived in was the "big city" to many people. The only target we had was there and the nearest one was over 100 miles away!
I hated living up there, it was too rural for me.
I live in a town of I think like 8,000 people however, I have so many cities surrounding me it feels like it's one big city. I'm only 3 1/2 miles from an expressway and that to me is freedom haha.
