How do you take other people's opinions on things in your life?

With a grain of salt. They can have their opinions but it isn't their life to interject in at all. So I nod, smile and go on with my life.

Honestly, very few people have EVER given me their opinion on my own life. I guess I'm lucky in that way...
The few that have, eh. It's my life. Not theirs!

I agree with the others, I just move on! I listen to what the have to say but in the end I ultimately end up doing things my way.

Depends on the person and what it's about in particular

Agree with Augie...it depends on the person. I'm much more likely to consider my mother's opinions than someone at work.
That being said, even though I'll consider them but that might not change my mind

If I took other's opinions into account I'd have never married DH, would have moved back home and tried to get a job that I hate because they felt my venting over being alone, bored, tired etc... meant that I was unhappy and he wasn't doing his job.
Needless to say... my own bed, and a few hobby's made all the difference in the world and they had to eat their words

It depends on who it is and what exactly they are commenting on. Like when DH's friend's wife said i should leave my son to let him cry at night, i got upset afterwards when she was not around...that's just not my style of parenting and i hate when people push stuff like that on you like it's the only way to raise a child.

I feel insulted and resentful. I would never...in a million years! give anyone MY opinion on how they should be doing something in THEIR life. And I expect the same courtesy.
