I took a sewing class in high school and have continued doing. I still like to sew but my sewing machine is in storage...somewhere.
I find it to be relaxing.

I sew. I wouldn't call me much more than a beginner, but I enjoy it when I get to it. I made curtains for our last house, and I have a tinkerbell shower curtain pinned for Maggie's bathroom. I have to hand sew the artwork onto it. This means I need enough time to do it with both hands free...My biggest issue with having any hobby is having time + energy.
One day! Hopefully before she outgrows the theme, it will be done!

my daughters room is tinkerbell. i still love tinkerbell so i dont know if she would outgrow it. in fact i have the tinkerbell soundtrack cd in my car stereo right now. desiree and i love to listen to it. its beautiful calm music.
i really want to sew. i think a machine may make it a little easier and i have someone who can help me learn and there are so many easy ideas i found on pinterest for things, especially the maxi dress one i love

I have a singer, but would LOVE a brother! I also have a serger. Both are packed away from our move.
I have taught myself by online tutorials and just doing it. I did sew a big quilt in high school, that was fun.

I love to sew. I sew at least one thing every week. Two days ago I made myself 20 turned and top stitched flannel toner pads, so I could stop using the disposable ones.
Half of them
I also made a bunch of my own cloth diapers, and I make quilts, and whatever else I feel like making I guess. LOL Sewing is very relaxing for me. I taught myself to do it, but my grandmothers and my mother are all very good at sewing, so it's kind of in my blood.

Do you know the little cotton pads (like cotton balls, but flat squares) that you can buy at the store? I use them to put toner on my face after I wash it. I use cloth for pretty much everything else (except toilet paper) so I figured I might as well use my scraps of flannel to make pads that I can reuse for my toner instead. I can also use them to remove my makeup.

I want to make my own cloth diapers! I just haven't had the chance to sit down and try it yet. That and my sewing machine is packed away haha. I need to have my mom get it and bring it with her next trip.

Kara. those are a fantastic idea - I go through so many of those little disposable pads. reusable ones would be a darn good thing here!

Thanks!! I have a mesh lingerie bag that I hung from one of the knobs on our bathroom cabinets, and I put them in there when I'm done with them, and then whenever I get down to a few left, I throw them in with our clothes.
