Has anyone read these books?

I started the 1st book yesterday and I had it finished by the end of the night. I was having second thoughts about continuing to read them. I am intrigued with the "deeper" issues not so much about the cheese ball sex. lol. I am slightly OCD so since I read the first one I HAVE to finish reading the other two.

Any thoughts about the books?

I'm reading the first one, and honestly struggling to get through it and not just because I'm short on time. If I manage to make it through this one (i'm kinda ocd like that too), I don't think I'll be reading the others.

To call it cheese ball sex stuff is an understatement. It's disturbing to me that it's become so frantically popular to be truthful.

Ditto. I'm ocd about finishing a book I start, I wasn't even planning on reading the other two, but the way book 1 ended, I had to. Book 3 is better than the first two, and there's much much less of the "cheeseball sex" so you have something to look forward to! I also am not quite sure how it got so popular since its really nothing special....I like to re-read books and I definitely won't be re-reading this series.

I read all 3 and the first book took me awhile to get past the horrible writing. I preferred the story behind it than all the sex. I did ell at the book when she over used words.

Omg, I'm so glad you posted about this! Because my dentist just told me to read it; she said it's got a beautiful story about a man who needs saving and the woman who saves him by loving him unconditionally. I had heard (and she mentioned) that there was a lot of sex, but I didn't realize that it was cheeseball sex, and I also didn't realize the writing wasn't great. I don't have a lot of leisure time, so when I do, want to read something really good! Think I'll steer away from these, lol.

I've flipped through them, but I can't push past the "started as fanfiction based on twilight" thing.

i read all 3 of them....the cheese ball sex was the best part of the book...lol without it the books would have been horrible to read....simply because it was written so badly LOL..

i think i will send the author a thesaurus and ask her to kindly not repeat the same things 50x in one book LOL

Yeah the "inner goddess" repetition kind of got to me.

I read all three. They were not the best written books I've even written and at time I wondered if they were written by a teen girl with a very healthy sex life! Some of the story line twists were really odd too.

I'm about half way through the second book. There are so many things that I am annoyed with but I won't say anything for fear of ruining it for the ladies that still want to read it. And yes MellieB I agree, it does sound like it was written by a teen girl with a healthy sex life. LOL!

A friend lent me the 1st one and I got about half way through, and couldn't finish (lol there's got to be a pun in there somewhere!) I can not get past how horrible the writing is, I felt like it had no focus or direction....
I do not consider myself to be a prude, but I am absolutely not interested in anything that outrageous! The book gets a thumbs down from me... and I should say my standards are pretty low as I read and liked the twilight books!

The writing was horrible and it seriously bothers me that a story about an emotionally abusive relationship (I'm not talking BDSM here either) is being marketed as a book that is saving people's relationships and getting women worldwide in the mood.

Seriously disturbing.

Thank you Cybele, that's what concerns me most about it too - beyond the crappy writing, the worst part of this for me is that the focus of the story isn't the abuse it speaks to, or worse still, the willingness and the desperation to be the victim...

uggh...not the messages I want for my daughter to be reading about when she's older.

i will also say i was a little bit let down by the sex....there wasn't much to it really...yeah it got a little crazy...but man it can be spiced up some more....the way people were raving over it i at least thought the sex would be awesome haha....it ended up being the same thing over and over again....

if you need to read this book to save your marriage...you might as well give up haahahahahahahaha

I haven't read it. Everyone I know who has that also reads regularly has told me it was horrible. Plus I read this awesome review. Katrina Lumsden (Charlotte, MI)'s review of Fifty Shades of Grey

If you want to read erotica, there seems to be much better out there than this. The "love" story seems pretty abusive to me. I feel like I can't completely judge the book since I haven't read it, but I have no desire to read it based on what others have said.

^That's awesome!

I found the clip of George Takei to be kinda creepy though.
