The other post about who brought up marriage first got me thinking:

Who finally proposed?

How many proposals did it take?

If more than once, why did it take so many?

-------------------------------------

DH proposed. He had to do it twice because the first time I told him to give his head a shake. We had a semi long distance thing going, so we were only able to spend weekends together. The first time he asked me to marry him was on the phone, and he said "you wanna? You seem like you're a good time."

I said no and made him ask again the right way.

Technically it was DH. It wasnt a real proposal though it was a "wanna plan the wedding when we get settled in our new house" proposal LOL.

And he just did that once.

It was basically like we already knew marriage was coming so he didnt feel like being formal. However, since it was my first true relationship and marriage thing Id have liked that.

Three times.

The first time was right before he left for boot camp. I was still in high school so I thought he was afraid of losing me before he left. I told him yes, but didn't think that it was "real". (we were just watching tv, he never got doen on one knee)

The second time was when he was is AIT for his MOS (training school for his job in the military). I received a package in the mail and when I opened it, there was a little white box with a wedding ring set. A little sign popped out that said, "Will you marry me?". Again, I said yes, this time I was a little more sure of it.

When he finally came home for his 2 weeks of hometown recruiting he finally got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.

Man, I love my hubby. Not the most romantic guy but he tries.

I love it! It's a heck of a lot more romantic than "hey. You wanna?"

He asked, just once. He did get down on one knee in the middle of a nice restaurant. I was sure he was going to ask me that night (though he still thinks it was a total surprise). I guess it was a surprise in the end, though, because he was so nervous that he acted weird and withdrawn all night and I started to worry that I was wrong and he was going to break up with me instead, lol. You gotta love boys.

He asked twice. I said yes both times. My ring had to be resized and was stolen so I made him ask before putting the ring on me.
