Hope has been on formula for about 4 weeks. we started her on the Kirkland brand from Costco and it was going well. We went to buy more this week and it is "discontinued" we bought a can of Similac to tide us over and have decided on Walmart's Parent's Choice

I have been worried about her overall intake fot about 2 weeks. She only eats 1-2 oz each feeding but goes 3 hours between feeds and does 5-7 hours overnight so overall between 15-18oz. She is 10 lbs 5 oz. Between 4 and 6 weeks she gained some but dropped from 50th to 25th on the curve. Her 2 month is Wednesday

Any tips for increasing her intake. She falls asleep most feeds but I wake her and keep trying. or dream feed.

My son is 4 months old and only takes 5 oz and i just moved him to that this week... they are suppose to eat 6 oz or more at this point.. he is 15 lbs and weighed 10 lbs at his 2 month check up.

I think your baby will let you know when she is hungry and wants more... hopefully you will find out more from the doctors .... if she wasnt getting enough you would know... her cheeks would be sunken in and she will have lost weight. my nephew wasnt getting enough to eat before his 1 month check up ..my son also didnt have a good suck and at a week old i switched him to similac sensitive when i realized he didnt have enough wet diapers to be getting enough milk..

My daughter was 4 lbs 3 oz at birth and weighed something around 14 or so at a year old and now at 8 years old weighs 39 lbs ...... i dont remember how many oz of formula she drank ... but would only eat 2-3 spoons of baby food ..she was just small and her stomache couldn't hold much food ..

I would tell the doctor she is falling asleep during alot of her feeds though... as long as she is gaining weight they may not want you to up her feeds

I dont have much advice but you should mention it to the doctor. I think she should be taking more but that might be normal for her. I dont think I would be concerned as long as she is wetting enough diapers and her fontenels (spelling??) on her head are not sunken in. My LO wasnt getting enough when I was EBF and she would wake up after sleeping for 4 or 5 hrs and have a dry diaper. Took her to the do and she was losing weight. So we started formula and shes been fine!
