Was your delivery planned or spontaneous? What type of delivery did you have? Induction, natural, c/section?

I went into spontaneous labor, but it wound up turning into an emergency C-section after about 48 hours of labor (40 unmedicated, 8 with epi and pitocin). Apparently his head was down but twisted so it wasn't pushing on my cervix, and the cord was around his neck twice. Scariest experience of my life, but it all ended pretty well. I wrote a rather detailed account of it (Codename Buckethead: All according to plan.), but it's pretty long.

Mine was also spontaneous. Hurt so bad I made those doctors knock me out! I'm such a wimp when it comes to pain already, it was just too much for me. Luckily the delivery went off without a hitch.

Leah W, wow! I read your account and it is so scary! What a blessing that it all turned out okay.

I had a planned induction but I went into labor just before I went into the hospital. I think they still gave me pitocin and the nurse inserted something called a Cervadil which felt like broken glass in my vagina. It was awful. I was poorly prepared for labor and even more poorly prepared to deal with the pain. It made me think twice about ever having kids again. Yes I got the epidural, in fact I got four. Honestly, if I ever do it again I want to have a planned C-section. It was that bad... At least I've had surgery before and I know I can deal with surgery. I felt quite traumatized afterward. I love my little guy so much though, a few days later I made the decision to just let go of my negative feelings and focus on him. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.

My delivery was spontaneous. I had a doctor's appointment the day I went into labor. It was a natural delivery with an epidural. I was so scared of how I was going to handle the pain and the whole process but I did a lot better than I thought I would. I was scared that I may have had to have a c-section because Clayton was head down but facing to the side making it more difficult to push him out. My labor was a total of a little more than 12 hours.

Rozz, I am sorry you had such a bad experience! Sounds like it was terrible. I admire your attitude, though, to just let it go and focus on your little man!

This time was a planned repeat c/s. It was odd to have a baby without going into labor at all! No contractions, no pain, no water breaking. It was a completely uneventful, boring, straight forward c/s. I had a traumatic experience with my first, so I am eternally grateful that this was so smooth!

My delivery was very spontaneous! LOL. I had a super fast labor and nearly didn't get to the hospital in time. I wasn't expecting to go in labor that day or for it to go so fast!

My delivery was a spontaneous induction. http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...aeden-lee.html (The Story of Caeden Lee) I had been having BP issues and had to be induced shortly after my 39 week appointment, as in 3 hours later, lol. I had 1/2 of a dose of cytotec and went into active labor 2 1/2 hours after that. I was able to make it through with no pain meds or epi and had my beautiful boy after 5 hours of very intense labor. I was so sad I had to be induced because I so hoped for a totally natural birth and had planned on laboring mostly at home, but after how fast I ended up laboring and how amazing the whole process went, I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am so thankful!!
