Would you rather your LO suck their thumb for comfort or use a pacifier?

Both have their pros... Scarlett has given up sucking her first two fingers and hasn't taken a pacifier since one month. She gnaws things randomly, but she doesn't suck anything but boob these days.

I agree that at least a pacifier you can take away. I sucked my thumb until I was 12 and I have an over bite because of it

Ditto! But, Kynslee isn't too much of a pacifier fan. She loves to comfort nurse herself to sleep. She mainly uses it in the car if she's tired or sometimes in the middle of the night she likes it to go back to sleep if she's not hungry but wants to suck something. And, she LOVES to play with her pacifier!! So cute - she'll take her paci and pull it out of her mouth and start talking to it!

Paci, because you can get rid of a paci when the time comes with bribes, rewards or stories of the "paci fairy" - I've taught children who still sucked their thumb at age 9-10 because it's a hard habit to break and you can't take it away.
