Hard day today

First of all and mainly, because its pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day. I could have a two month old baby, but I dont. Im not as bitter as I used to be, I always say or think "it'll happen when its meant to happen" but days like today make me miss what I could have already had.

And also, a friend who got married the weekend after Jason and I just announced her pregnancy today. They got pregnant on their honeymoon I hate to pick them apart...but they are no where NEAR where we are in our life, weve worked so hard to get where we are and gone through so much...and it just comes easy for them. Im not trying to be a bitter person but that just really sucks...

Oh and not to mention... temp went WAY down today and im spotting. Thats okay I expected that, but today of all days!!!

I'm sorry sweet pea. This is hard day in more ways than one for you.

I know how it feels when it seems like everything you want comes so much easier for everyone else, especially when it seems like you've got the best makings for everything you want, ya know?

Today is gonna be a bit rough, but know that tomorrow is a new day and since you and DH are in a MUCH better place in your life than these friends are... know that when your bean is on the way, it will be a much more peaceful and enjoyable experience.

I dont know if I had mentioned to you guys but I had my yearly check-up today, and I was gonna talk with my dr about my miscarriages. (she didnt even know about my last one because it was while we were on vacation to Florida and I got a + pregnancy test, then miscarried before we even got home for me to call her). So once I told her that I had that third one she was concerned. This doctor is a different one in the practice, not my same old dr. (thank god!) and I LOVED her. She was SO caring and actually wanted to help! I almost cried when she walked out of the room, and thanked her because I had never been treated like that, like im not just some young girl who doesnt know what im talking about and have no clue about my body etc.. She listened to me when I told her about my charts and how I do O, and I temp and I know when I O and I know im not just reading my + tests wrong or something. (which is how I had been treated in the past) She said she's gonna talk with another dr there and decide which one, but she is either gonna refer me to a fertility specialist or an infertility center here in St. Louis. She said she is leaning more towards the fertility specialist since we dont have problems getting pregnant, we have problems "continuing the pregnancy". So, she is gonna talk it over with another dr there and call me later today and let me know where she is referring me. She said there are going to be a ton of tests ill have to go through at first, then they'll talk with me about my history...etc. She started to mention lupus, and blood clotting disorders..etc and then I mentioned my mom has lupus she jumped right on that and said theyll probably test for that first then. I told her I was taking baby aspirin as recommended by the other dr before the 3rd pregnancy and up until I lost that pregnancy so that didnt help at all (if it would have been a blood clotting problem) but it didnt work so maybe its something else. I dont know im blabbing now, I just wanted to let you guys know how excited I am to move forward and for the next step in our journey! I have so many different things in my mind right now so I may have jumbled things together... Sorry! So im waiting on that call from the dr to see where we go from here, then ill be making the appt! Yay! When my new dr. walked out of the room, she said im sorry for what you have gone through, but we are going to help you...and next time I see you I want it to be because you are pregnant not for your yearly check-up! That was SO reassuring!

I'm so glad that you had a responsive appointment with the doctor and that she's going to do all the testing with you to get you that cemented baby bean in there...

Hey girls! I hope im not boring you guys with my doctor updates, its just exciting to finally have something happening. My regular dr called and said she wants to refer me to an RE in St. Louis. She was so sweet, she said she personally called him and talked to him, and they said "absolutely" they would take me and help me. I am so confused though, she has referred me to an RE, is that the correct next step? I thought RE's are mainly for IVF, IUI, clomid...etc. I dont have that problem (getting pregnant) I have the staying pregnant problem. But I guess its still a "fertility problem" i just thought there would be some sort of other dr for that problem. (I didnt ask my dr when she called because im at work and missed the call and just listened to her voicemail) She said he is an amazing doctor, and he and everyone in their office are so sweet. I looked him up online, and cant find anything but wonderful things about him, he was also voted one of St. Louis' best doctors for the past 4 years. My next step is just to call and make the appointment. Im assuming he is a busy guy and I wont get in for awhile but thats okay, its worth it! I cant believe I will be seeing an RE Thats scary. I have to admit you hear all of these women who get told they have to go see an RE and you really deeply feel sorry for them, but when its you...man it really hits you. It is crazy that you can be so young, feel so healthy...and still go through this. I have a new respect for all you woman who have gone through fertility problems, im not putting myself in your same category at all or anything like that because I know my situation is different but its all I know and its really hard for me.

Thanks for listening to my rambling about this stuff again. Im very excited to move a step closer to our baby.

Also, have to add im on CD9 with tons and tons of O pains all throughout the day and not to mention the ewcm I had this morning...I swear my cycles getting shorter and shorter. I will start temping again in the morning to see where im at. But I dont want to "try" per se until we meet with the RE and get some things figured out, but I dont think were gonna prevent....ugh heck, I dont know! Its so hard to not try!

Your not boring us...
Thats is such good news that your dr has referred you to a great RE. I can understand you being nervous. But from what you said he is one of the best.
I really hope that he can give you a great plan so you can get a really really sticky bean.
Everyone's situation is different but we are all looking for the same ending and that is a H&H 9 months which I'm sure you will have soon. Good Luck sweety.

Ash, I am SOOO happy that new Dr is being so helpful now, and SOOO happy you got a referral to such a great specialist! I can't wait to hear what they have to say. Regarding the clotting disorder, depending on what it is, sometimes baby aspirin isn't enough. There are all kinds of tests they can and will run to identify the problem and to make sure you never again lose a bean. Best of luck to you both.

P.S. Are you still in the same practice as before? Are you with MY OB now, by any chance? (I remember talking about that ages ago - if you have Becky instead of the other one, I can see why you love her, because I love her too )

I almost started crying when I read about your first doc post! I'm so happy that you have found such a wonderful caring doctor. You really deserve the help and support and it's about time a doc took the time and realized it! I really hope that fabulous RE will help you get that cement bean ASAP! Can't wait to hear how things go!

Thank you so much for always checking in on me Rachel. And yes, the new OB who I got with is Becky now! She is amazing! So sweet. She referred be to Dr. Barry Witten (Comprehensive Infertility Services St Louis About Us Dr Barry Witten <--- that is his website) who is apparantly one of the best RE's in Missouri. Im so excited. I have to call him today, I was in bed SO sick all day yesterday I barely was even awake...I definitely slept off whatever I had because I feel a little better today. So from what I understand, at the point that I become pregnant (if that ever happens) ill be under the RE's care until 12 weeks or so...then Ill get to go back to Dr. Shelton. I just love her.
