Ok, I'm behind on posting this weekend...but that doesn't mean I haven't been obsessively checking in on you.

Have you tried/thought of getting Cinder a "thundershirt" - I haven't tried them, but supposedly they work wonders for dogs who are frightened of thunderstorms?

Pacing is extremely common following seizures. Not to worry, this is completely normal.

Unless you have talked to your vet about this, I would NOT give her anything that contains any sugar/sweeteners of any kind (natural or not) after a seizure. While the instinct might be to comfort her by giving her a yummy treat...it can actually be doing more harm than good. (Unless Cinder is hypoglycemic, then this is actually a good thing). You need to be stabilizing the blood sugars, and giving yummy snacks isn't the best way. If she likes her food, or if there is a food that she gets as a treat, that would be the best thing - giving her a small amount of food to calm down her blood sugars. I might even recommend baby rice cereal - super easy to mix, tasty treat. Or even white rice. Just be careful about the sugary treats...it can actually bring on more seizures!

Ok, now...I say maybe you test on Monday. That temp drop makes me nervous for you. I think you are smart not to think about it too much. But on the other hand, there is part of me that says..."Um, really? 21 days? REALLY? That's ridiculous." But I know you've had some wonk LP and cycles before. Why can't all this be easy?
Either way, my thoughts are with you...and Pat sends his best too. He also thinks you and Dan should move here. At the very least, he agreed that I should come with him on one of his east coast trips and we should all have dinner or zoo
Hang in there...and test ONLY WHEN YOU ARE READY. DO NOT succumb to the poas pusher pressure!
I've heard of the thundershirts... I was under the impression that they were for dogs that were frightened from the sound. That's not what sets her off... The actual electricity in the atmosphere from a severe thunderstorm can play with the electrical activity in the brain of an epileptic, thus causing seizures. I don't know that there's any way we can shield her from that...
We call her dog biscuits "cookies". They've got glucosamine & antioxidants in them for her joints and we've really noticed her movement improve since she's been getting them. She generally doesn't wanna eat after an episode, sometimes she'll wanna drink water... but usually she's pretty pacey and then she passes out from the exertion of it all.
We talked to our old vet about meds for her, but they told us the meds they'd put her on would cut her life expectancy dramatically and since she doesn't have them super often, it likely wouldn't be worth it. So we just try to keep her from hurting herself and manage it as best we can.
Ahhh, ok...you are right about the thundershirts. I didn't even think about the electricity from the storm...you're right, they likely wouldn't do any good. And the biscuits sound just fine...I was just worried about some overly sweetened treat...but those sound like they would be just perfect. And i totally agree with keeping her off meds if you can help it. Max has Cushings Disease, and the meds he could be on wouldn't do anything to extend or reduce his life...it would just make him thirsty and have bad poo-poos, so we opted not to mediate. Sometimes, no meds are the best med!
I have heard rubbing dryer sheets on your dog before a thunderstorm is supposed to help... I don't have a dog so I can't say it works for sure but I think it's worth a shot.
Oh, and you are so friggin' random, by the way.
My real answer should have been - "I pick none, I pick cheetahs, lions, leopards, or goats." You are funny.
Boo. I'm glad you're doing ok with it though. And you're right, no bleeding is still a good sign. I think tomorrow's temp will be telling. Hope you have a good night, and don't worry about it. Fate is in the cards...what will be, will be...
w.t.f. If this does't turn out to be your month I think you need to think about the LP you are taking because it may turn out to be messing with your cycles......there is no reason you should be 21DPO and NOT be pregnant!
On the plus side, you know you have a plan in place for the IVF so we know it's coming soon!!! I agree with Karin, tomorrow's temp will be telling.
I agree with Lyz. There is no reason you should be 21 DPO and NOT pregnant. I have heard of women being pregnant and not showing up on urine tests, so I think it may be good to get a blood test.
I just don't understand this, Nikki. 18 days in the LP is supposed to equal I'm honestly wondering if you're having chemical pregnancies.
I went on an info hunt across the internet. Black cohosh which is in the lydia pinkham raises post o progesterone. I wonder if it raised it up way higher than normal which is why AF hasn't come on yet or something. It also lowers LH levels which to me almost seems like it could cause issues or delayed oing.
I'm so sorry about the BFN
But, so glad that you have a plan for next cycle with using up that IVF, thats great news no matter what!!
The one thing I'm thinking is that Lydia Pinkham messes with your ovulation, like it doesnt actually happen even though you get signs that it is, and then randomly happens a while later - but without the normal signs of ovulation...cause thats exactly what happened last month also...and maybe you are actually 7DPO?
Huge HUGS!! Always thinking of yoU!
PS-So glad that Cinder seems to be feeling better, Carbon had a seizure once (we have no idea what happened with him he just went stiff, it was so scary)...
So sorry about the BFN. I'm also thinking you might have O'd later and are maybe just now getting to the end of a TWW. If that's the case do you think you covered your bases? KWIM? So excited you have IVF next month if this isn't the cycle for you. Big hugs Nikki..... I was so mad when I saw you got a BFN. It's sooooo time for you to see two pink lines girl!
