I started a journal a while back and got bored with it. Maybe I just write entries now & then when I feel the need... Either way, I feel like writing, and have no idea where my other entries are now. Here goes!

Today is CD1 of cycle 6 TTC#1. It's a little disappointing because AF was a few days late and I got my hopes up, only for AF to come in and ruin all the fun. If she would have just shown up on time it would have been okay, but periods aren't like parties: being fashionably late is terribly rude.

I made a commitment to myself, my husband, and my future child, that if I made it to this cycle, I was really going to clean up my act. So here goes. I'll limit my drinking to nearly non-existant, and the occasional smoking is out the window completely. This is the first cycle with my ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor, which I'm excited about since my OPKs were all whacky last cycle. And I'll be temping every day this cycle, no matter what, even if for some reason I feel like a particular morning's temp won't be accurate or isn't highly necessary. We have healthy foods and drinks in our kitchen now, which I plan to use almost exclusively compared to the junk I've been eating. And I'll be taking my vitamins every day instead of just on days I feel like it.

Some people find fertility monitors, temping, scheduled BDing, etc., stressful. I don't. I'm very scientific minded, and I like knowing things. I like having a plan. All the extras don't stress me out. The only thing that stresses me out is knowing I'm following a plan every month and still coming up short at the end of it. (Although honestly we've probably only followed the plan to the letter for 2 or 3 cycles, so I'm not all too worried. The other cycles have had complications of some sort where our chances for conceiving were pretty minimal.)

So here, on CD1 of cycle 6, I'm making this new commitment. I'm in a very happy place in life and am really ready for a little one. I'm all partied out and want to be able to go to Babies R Us without feeling like I'm looney tunes, ya know? So here goes nothin'! Well, maybe not... I guess it's more like, "Here goes everything!" Wish me luck!

*sigh* I guess this is hitting a little harder than I realized it would. I slept until almost 11, got up for an hour, then went back to sleep until 5 this evening. Been feeling sick to my stomach and sluggish all day -- not even coffee helped. I only connected it with being sad a little bit earlier. I wonder if that's why I slept so much today... I don't have a fever. My hopes were just so high. Guess I'll just take a few days and work through it. I can't imagine how I'd handle a chemical pregnancy after this; it's rough.

Erin I'm happy you are doing things right for you and your little family. You're making a huge change because you love yourself and your future and sometimes life favors those kinds of decisions.... I hope that your DH supports you every step of the way and that your transition is smooth. Keep thinking positive and more good things will come your way. I hope your icky feelings go away from today soon. At least it's a Sunday and hopefully you can just have a cuddle day or lounge around.

I'm sorry AF was so rude. Last month I was 10 days late! It was crushing, for both DH and I so I know exactly how you feel. I hope your big life changes brings you a BFP this cycle! Best of luck to you!
