Welcome back to journals Tammy!! Don't feel bad AT ALL about leaving for a while! We all have to take that time at one point or another so it's no big deal. And you can see from my journal that I don't update my journal every day like I used to
I'm sorry your IUI didn't work. I know exactly how you feel because we have done two and we've got NOTHING. What were your DH's counts for the IUI? Did the doctor say anything to you about it? Ours usually says "that's good, it's not great but it's good" I totally understand what you are saying about IVF. We had an appt the other day and the dr told us "no matter what else we do, my recommendation for you is always going to be IVF" Which TOTALLY sucks I hope your next IUI works!!!
How is Curves? I've heard of that but don't know anything about it LOL....and yay for acupuncture! I've read it can really help
Glad to see you are back! I am just now starting on journals myself.
I am really sorry for what all your are going through. It will happen! I know it will.
I have seen a lot of people do acupuncture. Where do you go for that?? I have never heard of anyone in my area having that. Sounds interesting!

Thank you Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy My Art Page!
i dont think ive read much of your journal since youve been out of it for so long, but i hope restarting it this time will be full of positivity and good things rather then continuing on this hard road!! you deserve all great things to come to you!!!
I'm sorry your IUI didn't work Did the doc say anything about what might be causing DH's motility going down? Does he take vitamins? I'm sorry you're going through all this
I hope your weekend goes well! Oh and I hope you get the position you want at work!

Tammy, I am glad you're journaling. I think it's a great stress relief.
I hope you get that new position at work. DH and I thought the same thing about child care with me being on nights. He just didn't want to be alone 3 nights a week with an infant and I understand that I guess, although I think he'd feel differently once we actually had a baby. Do you have to interview for the new position or are you just waiting to hear? I will keep you in my prayers & my fingers n toes crossed for you.
I'm sorry about DH's counts and the IVF stuff. Miracles happen when you least expect them so I hope you get yours soon! So many people have to do IUI a couple times before they're successful so I think you'll get a pretty little bean on your next try. I can't remember...are you doing it again this month?
Sarah - his actual count wasn't bad, it was 48mil, volume was lower at 1.3ml, morphology was 4% and motility was 25%. The doc didn't say anything about his results, only the tech did, that they want to see motility at 50%. Next time we don't even see a doc, a nurse does it, but sometimes they are more approachable for questions so I'll ask for her suggestion if it gets any lower.
Kelli - I love my acupuncture girl! 75% of their patients are fertility patients, so they have a lot of standards they follow which is awesome! I've sent DH a few times too, but with his schedule it's hard to make any kind of appt. I think if you looked one up in your area they would tell you if they can treat it or not, some medical docs will says it helps, some will say it can't hurt and some will say they don't know if it helps... but either way, I like feeling like I'm doing something! My first visit they spent 2 hours with me going over EVERYTHING! They were were more thorough than my RE
Tara - thank you for saying I'm deserving...sometimes I wonder why not me so it's nice to hear someone think I do deserve good things
Judy - I've missed journals too! I may not make it every day but will make a better effort to keep up! They don't have an explanation for DH's motility. They always say counts can go up and down, but that's the only thing that's consistently going down
Christy - We are doing IUI again this month Hopefully in 2 weeks! I start Clomid tomorrow, which I'm glad I popped in because it reminded me I need to refill my prescription! The interviews haven't been scheduled yet... if I got it I would be in the same department just in a different role. I think DH would fall in love in about 2 seconds with the baby and wouldn't mind spending 3 nights a week with him/her
Nothing really to update today... well, kind of, but not ttc related. I went to a trade show, I sell Miche Bags. I purchased about $7,000 worth of stock. 300 women, so I bought 50 starter kits for the little purses and 18 of the big bags. OMG we sold 5 little starter kits and 2 big bags! Most of the ladies there already had these purses, so some bought shells and accessories, but I pretty much and stuck with $6,000 worth of stock and it's all on my credit card
inkcheer: for another round of IUI! I am so glad you're trying again Tammy! You girls are all so strong! You may not always see how strong you are but from my view, looking in, you're awesome! I hope these next 2 weeks fly by for you so we can start stalking your chart!
That totally sucks that you got stuck with all of that merchandise. Can you sell it on Ebay or Craig's List or something? I hope you find a way to sell it all.
Oh crap! That's a lot of merchandise to be stuck with. I hope you find a way to unload it soon.
I'm sorry your first IUI was a bust. All 3 of ours have been busts... so I TOTALLY know the feeling.
As far as DH's swimmer situation is concerned... I don't know how he is about taking vitamins or anything, but my RE made us buy antioxidants for DH because his numbers haven't been as high as they'd like.
We bought a bottle from the office for $60 bucks (we've since found the same ones online for $34 bucks) and DH took them every day for 3 months. By our last IUI, his motility, after washing, was 95%...
I have nothing to update... just that my IUI's are scheduled for Nov 5, 7 and 8! So, another stressful scheduling issue, they aren't open on Saturdays, so if I get my + OPK on Nov 5th, which will be CD15, we won't be able to go in on the Sat. I think we'll still go in on the Sun anyway, especially if my + OPK comes really late in the day again... But Grr! I can't believe they aren't open 7 days a week, do they really think our eggs will wait because they don't staff it on Saturdays?
Yay for IUI scheduling. I swear I think that is the thing that turns me off the most about the IUI. I just spoke to my Dr today and they do come in on the weekend they just charge you
Hey Tammy !!! Nice to see you over here in journals, I dont think I've caught up with you here So, COOL on getting your IUI dates !!!! That was one of the 1st questions I asked my RE, what happens if it falls on a w/e.... I was worried they would just say sorry, cant do, but mine will come in. Now they didnt tell me if they charge extra but .... I guess that's better than having to cancel just b/c of that. Did you get your +OPK last IUI cycle on CD15 as well ?? How many times a day are you planning on testing ?? Cant wait to follow you closer now that the time is getting near !!
I'm glad you got your dates!! And I hope you don't have to go on the weekend or if you do, that they don't charge you extra.. ok I will totally be stalking you now!! I already do but I will stalk you extra!!

Wow you get three IUI's done??? That much be mucho expensive Why does your docor recommend to do that?
Tammy I'm so excited you've got your IUI scheduled!!!! How crazy that they're not open 7 days a week, what the heck!? Oh well, it won't matter because Saturday won't be the day! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Tammy, I hope this is it!
Hooray for having your schedule done!! Come on November BFP!!!!!!!

Hey ladies, I won't be able to get to everyone else's journals today but wanted to hop on... trying hard to keep my journal up
Sam - even if they charge you to come in, I'd pay! I mean, when he told us you can come in on Sunday or just skip that cycle... I'm thinking, but what if your date ends up being on a Sat for a few months? You just keep canceling?!?! Grrr!
Jeni - have you decided about potentially doing a November IUI yet?? You have no idea how much I'm hoping the timing works out for you so you can do it! I've done 3 Clomid cycles, and once I had a + on CD15, but that month it was also + on CD16 so I think I'd be ok. Since the egg lasts around 24 hours, even if I got my + on CD15 and couldn't go in until CD17, I think it would be ok. I looked at FF and saw lots of BFP charts where they had CH's the day before IUI! So, I'm thinking good thoughts!!!
Operation OPK... I'm attempting to hold out until CD12! But, I never last that long!
Judy - I'm stalking you too! And pumped to see spotting and not flow marked!!!
Sarah - I don't actually get to do 3 IUI's I book 3 on the dates I think I might get a + OPK based on previous cycles. So, mine are booked for CD 15, 17, and 18. If I don't get a + OPK on CD14, I call and cancel my appt for the next day. I do that until I get my + My doc doesn't do monitored cycles until you get to the injectable stage so it's all my best guessing game which makes things very stressful!
Christy - Yup, I'm willing to be our day will be the Sunday! CD15 is way too early for me and on Clomid CD 18 is late! So, the 17th sounds like a great day to meet with the turkey baster!
OMG do I get to see pics of you and hubby all dressed up soon? Bret Michaels is actually here on Saturday performing... I'm working nights so I may have to go for a visit and attempt to meet the dude! Ok, that will never happen because anytime I've had the opportunity to do that, I've chickened out!
Nikki - I want this for both of us! I'm not far behind you in my journey, both timewise and what we've had for MA so far... so I know how you feel... we're cycle buddies so we have good motivation to get the heck outta ttc#1!!
Jackie - thanks hon! I know you helped me through the stress of the planning and waiting last month, I'm using all the same methods again, and I just have to learn to relax and know that my body does well with OPK's and they haven't steered me wrong yet!
Ok, so for an update... not much going on again! I work nights this weekend so will start temping on Monday which will be CD11 for me. It feels weird not to worry about temping, but it's been nice to just sleep in when I can! My OPK regiment will be the same as last time... using the Fertility Monitor (which, I have to say, I don't think I'd really recommend it to anyone, I can see how easy it would be to miss your surge given that you only test 1st thing in the am, and it is very expensive! I only bought it at the recommendation of my acupuncturist, but as soon as I'm out of sticks, I'm going to sell it!) using digi's when it's close, I bought the regular Clearblue OPK's, which they are just expensive and tested + the same time as everything else, didn't give me any earlier indication... and of course will stick with my trusty Wondfo's!
I'm still doing acupuncture, haven't been in a couple weeks because I was out of town, but I'm going tonight! Can't wait to have my nap
Today is my last dose of Clomid, so only a week to go before the real fun begins!!!
Tammy our party is tomorrow so I'll post pictures in my journal on Sunday. I can't wait! I think they're going to look super cute! I was going to curl and tease up my hair but I am debating being lazy and just getting an 80s wig. LMAO. We'll see. You've had opportunities to meet Bret Michaels? That's so cool! Although I would chicken out, too!!
I am glad you said that about the CB fertility monitor because I was thinking about buying one. I use Answer OPKs and CB digi OPKs already so I wasn't sure if I needed the fertility monitor on top of all of that. I probably will just stick to OPKs. I wish I could just be the kind of girl who just BDs when she feels like it & winds up preggo. I love my OPKs but I rely on them so much, kwim?
Oooohhh ok I get it now! Wow that's weird that they won't monitor you some just to make sure you get the right timing? Do you do a trigger shot at all? Or just go in when the OPK is positive?
