Hi Girls.
I have been super MIA from JM and I def. apologize. I miss all my friends here but thrilled for all those who have moved to a DDC! Congratulations to you all!
I decided to post a journal...something I have been debating for a few weeks. But I decided to do it to maybe give hope, insight and probably a few laughs along the way.
So Here it goes!
My Dh and I have been TTC #1 for 9 months now (wow, 9 months...boy, if it would have come easy, we would be getting ready for a new bundle of joy)
We learned about a month or so ago that TTC on our own would most likely not happen. My Dh has a great sperm count and good motility, however it only applies to 2% of his sperm, putting us in a below normal category.
We were told by my OB/GYN, that our only hope was IVF using ICSI. (which is IVF where they take 1 sperm and inject it into 1 egg) This procedure was very scary for me to imagine and also very expensive. We were literally devastated. We scheduled appt. with 2 reproductive endocrinolgists, 1 of which is one of the top guys for IVFs (he and he crew was the first team to do quote "the first test tube baby").
After our appt with him, we learned that my OBGYN had completely misguided us and that we were infact candidates for IUI. Now, that doesn't mean that is all we needed, but we atleast get to start there. He thought that it could be successful for us. We decided to stick with him. And besides, who could say no to a man who looks like Santa Claus!!!!
So here we are! For the first time since TTC i am begging AF to hurry up and get here, so we can start.
My goal of this journal, is to give hope and information who other couples who have heard the same things We were told. I hope to use my research via online skills and my appt. to enlighten others, while I learn at the same time!
With my work schedule, I won't be posting everday, but I will post as often as I can, including our game plan--and more information about those procedures--for those who might want to know!
Thanks for taking the time to read this. And I wish you lots of luck in your ttc journey!
PS- I am the worlds worse with my online typing--i like to think of it as my brains goes faster than my hands go, so please bear with me and my typos and left out words!LOL

I'm glad you're getting a chance with IUI.
I did a paper on your doctor last semester. CRAZY!! That is amazing.
I hope the IUI works for you!

Well Girls, Yet I am MIA again.
Still keeping this one short and sweet!
I thought I would post our "plan of action", for anyone's curiosity!
Once AF starts--
Day 1- Call Santa's Workshop(he he he) and make appt!
Before Day 5, go in for ultrasound-get prescription for Clomid and order trigger shot.
Between day 7-11 (whatever the thursday of that time period falls)--go for HSG and start clomid
Day 14--Ultrasound, HCG injection
Day 16-- IUI
Day 22-- Progesterone
Day 29--PG test or AF...
I have to say i am most nervous about the HSG. My pap smear is uncomfortable for me, and I am nervous about the uterine contractions. I hope that the dye doesn't affect me getting PG. I know that it usually takes a few tries for IUI, so I guess our 1st month...is just that--the 1st month. Alot of figuring it out. Im afraid i will make too many eggs with the clomid and have to skip the month (but we will still BD anyways)
Anyways. That is the plan. I am on about day 19ish of this cycle. Started to get bbs soreness--which is a bit early, but i am just hoping that means AF will be on time for the first time in awhile. I should start (given its a 28 day cycle) on the 25th...the date of our annual pumpkin carving party! yay for parties.

Sounds like a great plan.
I was nervous about the HSG too but it was super easy and fast. I felt some cramping but that was it. I was worried about it interfering with getting PG but the doctor told me that it can help "clean" the uterus out and many people get PG right after their HSG. Of course I wasn't one of the lucky ones...but I really hope you are.

stephanie--i had heard that and he even mentioned it too. my biggest concern was the actual dye...what if my baby comes out and is stain...lol...joking aside. if i do it on CD 11 and the IUI on 16, is that enough time to get out of system to have a successful IUI? kwim? Im just a big baby though. i have never had anything remotely this 'evasive' my whole life...knock on wood--no broken bones, no surgeries...no nothing--well i did have my tonsils lanced and that awful. so its very scary. I do def. appreciate your experience and my TTC buddy, Lee Ann, said the same thing. So im hoping its nothing...but anxiety will probably get to me more...

Well, I am about CD 23. I have had sore BBS for like 5 days now. I would be completely flabbergasted (sp?) given everything we have been through these past few months--if this turned out to be something more. I usually get sore bbs for about 2 days about 7 days before AF. I was super excited to get sore bbs, about 5 days ago, thinking AF will be here sooner than later--which means IUI starts soon. but now...it has me thinking...what if????? I can't help but to think it. To get PG on our own, would be the best gift from God, i could ever imagine. After this past month or so, I figured getting PG on our own would never happen,---
well, it hasn't happened yet, so im still a bit pestimistic...my body has been known to play tricks on me.so we will have to wait it out.

Well girls, im bit late posting this, but no baby. Negative FR on thursday (i think it was)I still have pretty sore BBS--and they are huge-- and bloating from hell. I have had crampy little twinges, like AF should be here soon. I thought a 2ww--waiting to test was long---geez, waiting for AF is like waiting for eternity to get here.
Nothing much else to report. I have a 3 day weekend and we are having our annual pumpkin carving party on sunday. its always alot of fun! I am busy working on baby products for my booth, getting all my christmas stuff lined up! fun fun fun....
have a great weekend

I have my 1st dr. appt tomorrow. they will do an ultra sound to make sure i am not producing cysts. (thats what the lady on the phone said, atleast) a bit nervous--never had any ultra sound, much less a tranvag. one. I will get a claendar with all my important dates, so i will be sure to post it as soon as i can!
