agreed, this is YOUR journal....if someone doesn't like hearing about your pregnancy, they don't have to read it. I, for one, like coming on here to see how you are

As for your DDC, are you atleast lurking in there so you can get to "know" people before you join??

You're right, ladies, this is MY journal. However, I've been here FAR too long to know that sometimes, it's better to just keep the baby gaga to myself, or at least in check. But know that it is my decision, for now, to not ramble on and on about symptoms, feelings, etc. I don't feel pressured in any way NOT to, its just what I feel is best right now. Besides, I don't really have too much to say other than I'm sort of just hanging out until I find out more on the 4th

So, I am 95% done with my school for this week! Cranked through a bunch of reading, 2 sets of homework questions, 2 study guides, 2 tests, and 1 paper. I just have 1 paper left, and I'm about 1/3 done with it. Besides all that, I managed to make a killer pot roast, twice baked taters, regular baked taters, broccoli ready to steam, and funfetti cookies for dessert.

Oh, and for lunch, i made a grilled cheese with american cheese & pepper jack, on asiago focacia bread. YUM.

Oh, and I did 5 loads of laundry and changed the sheets on the bed, and folded all the sheets I washed and put them away. And cleaned the dog room. WTH? Where is all this energy coming from? The fear of having a guest in the house and finding something out of place, that's where. And I'm paying for it now, dearly. My back is wrenched (I have a bad back as it is), and I'm wiped. I'm just hoping I make it through dinner! At least tomorrow, I have very little do to, and we have a long weekend as well. Just found out we have a BBQ on Sat at a friends house. I'm not sure of the time, but I'm hoping to heck it's daytime, because then I can get away without drinking without raising suspicions. I never "day drink" because it makes me tired. So I can use that "excuse". If it were night time, and I didn't have a glass of wine in my hand, people would talk. For sure.

Anyhow, ramble ramble. Just waiting for DH to give me the heads up that he's headed home with our dinner guest, then I have to go clean myself up a bit. I'm showered and all, but I'm having a really hard time hiding my bloated belly, so I need to come up with something creative.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful night...

xx

I hope everything went or is going good with dinner tonight! Oh, that grilled cheese sounds so good. Yum.

I definitely agree this is your journal! And given how long your journey has been, everyone also understands the hesitation to move over to the grads right away and you do need somewhere to chat about things! I still kept up with my journal for a little bit and also left my siggy active in it. Just as you understand, everyone else understands your need to post here too

Morning Ladies.
I just had a cookie for breakfast. Just so you know.

Dinner last night was a hit. My pot roast turned out perfect, as usual, and my twice baked taters didn't turn out so bad either! DH and his coworker both loved them. Broccoli was deelish as well, but it's pretty hard to mess up steamed broccoli. Then I made cookies for dessert. Seriously the easiest cookies I've ever made and almost hands-down the best. Thank you Pinterest. And that is why I had one for breakfast.

Friend left just around 9 last night. I was sitting on the couch already, and as soon as he left, I helped DH clean up a bit and then went to bed. I was so tired.

Today, just have to finish up my paper, then on a quest to find something to wear to my niece's baptism in 2 weeks. Since I'm godmother, I have to look presentable, and will be in loads of pics. And since I'm "showing" (not really, but there is so much bloat it's unhideable at this point, I need to find something to mask it, otherwise, it will be a miserable weekend of questions that I won't be ready to answer.

When I was shopping for Vegas, I came across this dress at Macy's. I thought it was so pretty, but had no place to wear it. I told myself that if I was PG for the baptism, I would get it (if it hides my bloat). I emailed my bro/SIL to check if they have any pref on how dressy/colors for the day, so once I hear back, I'll decide. DH loves it too, from the pictures. It looks like it would fall in such a way that it would hide it. And I could toss on my Spanx if needed too

What do you think? CK Halter Dress

Anthropologie (one of my fav stores) also has quite a few dress options as well. Looks like shopping is in the cards for the weekend. The great thing about anything I find at Macy's is that not only do have gift cards for about $90, but I have a coupon, and there is a big sale too, so I should be able to find something without spending a ton of $$.

Today, just finishing up my paper, then meeting DH for lunch That doesn't get to happen too frequently, so it's fun when it does. Problem is, it's raining right now (not forecasted) and I have the top off of my Jeep. Urgh.

Hope everyone has a wonderful friday, and a super fun weekend. Happy Memorial Day, to those that celebrate!

xx

Thanks, Girls. I showed it to DH, he loves it. The only reason I won't get it is that I would love to find a dress that can pull double duty. First, for Mabel's baptism on June 10, then on June 18, we have a wedding for close friends, and we CANNOT let anyone there know. It's TOO early, and we will know a ton of people at this wedding, so it needs to be well hidden. This dress is ivory/white, so it wouldn't work for the wedding. Too bad it doesn't come in other colors.

Oh well, DH said we can go shopping at the nice mall here in SD this weekend

Just got back from lunch with DH. We had dirty-mex, so yummy. I just had a couple tacos, they were yummy. I am almost done with my paper, and then I'm hitting the couch. It's cold and rainy here (which made driving fun with the top of my Jeep off), and I worked my tail off yesterday, so today, I relax. Plus, I'm tired, and I'm having this odd sort of pain on the sides of my belly. Not cramping, nothing internal, it's more like stretching, it's really uncomfortable. I'm not complaining, mind you, but why does this have to happen SO early. Jeez, I'm not even 5 weeks yet. Anyhow, I've earned a half day of rest. DH doesn't believe that I'll actually do it, but I'm bound and determined to prove him wrong. Couch, sweats, flannel blankie, and 2 cuddly dogs sounds like a perfect rainy afternoon to me.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!

Honey, you've worked so long and hard for this that you really should feel free to talk as much or as little about your pregnancy in here as you want.

That dinner sounds delicious and I'm salivating at the idea of Funfetti cookies!

I started having stretching pretty early on, my doctor said that's normal. Plus, you have twins in there, means everything happens early.

I know you're a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, but shirts with ruffles worked well for me to hide the bloat.

Happy Weekend!
Just have time for a quick check in. Hope everyone has been having a great weekend so far - whether it's a holiday for you or not! We've been busy. Yesterday, we spent the day at 2 malls. That was a mistake. It was a nightmare - SO busy. DH really wanted to help me find something to wear to the baptism, and was SO supportive and really trying hard to help me pick out a dress. But I was having one of those shopping days (which isn't infrequent for me) where I went into what DH calls my "shopping death spiral". One of those moods where I like nothing, and get really down. He kept picking very beautiful dresses off the racks, and while they were all gorgeous for the most part, they weren't, in my picky narrow mind, right for a baptism. I don't know what "is" or "isn't", but nothing was working. I did try on 2 dresses, but neither were anything special. Then of course, I found a gorgeous, PERFECT dress at Nordstrom, but I hadn't noticed that wandered into the DVF and Balenciaga area, and the dress was like $1400...Ya, I don't even think so. So we left, and got back to our mall (a normal mall, vs the super upscale one we were at), as we had to pick up some pants at Nordstrom that DH was having hemmed. We made a quick run through Macy's, and I tried on the original dress I liked (the CK one I posted before), and another CK one, though I can't find the exact one online, this is it in white. The one I tried was beige almost the whole dress, and a layer of black at the bottom. They were both pretty, but the white one is gorgeous, DH fell in love, so I got it...with gift cards, coupons, and sale, it was $38 Pretty aweseome. However, I still can't get past the dress I originally saw about a month ago, and just ordered it anyway, and whether I wear it to the baptism or not, I have it for the June wedding, which is a casual type wedding at a winery right by our house.

This is the dress I love and just ordered. It's my fav brand of all time, and I love, love, love the dress. Period. Now, my only question is, do I get it in the other color too?

Decisions, decisions.

So, today, DH made me pancakes for breakfast, and he's working on his bike at the moment. Then we are taking a ride up to Julian, an old mining town in the mountains, with a bunch of boutiques, craft stuff, and the best apple pie on earth. There is a farmers market, and a great soda fountain with the best chili and burgers and MILKSHAKES. Yum. It will be a chilly ride (i.e. leathers needed), but will be in the mid 70s when we arrive, so will be a gorgeous day. I think we'll hit the grocery store this afternoon, and maybe do some paperwork and bills (yuck). Other than that, who knows?

Our BBQ last night was a blast. Our friends bought a ranch about a year and half ago, and have been living in the trailer on their 6-acre property whilst fixing it up. Super neat place, really small, but uber ranch-y. There was a mix of folks there, and so hiding the fact that I wasn't drinking was easy. When one person sort of gave me a funny look when I was drinking water, I just made mention of the fact that there are cops everywhere and wasn't going to risk getting pulled over on a holiday weekend. That put any question out of people's minds, and it was a neat evening. They have a gorgeous property, and both husband and wife, though neither are practicing right now, are both chefs. We had great appetizers, including a to-die-for chilled cucumber melon soup, mini crab cakes, chicken ginger cups, and fresh guac from their avocado trees. We had steaks and brats for dinner, and M (lady) made a rustic lemon goat cheese cheesecake for dessert. Again to die for. A great time by all, but when we got home just after 10, I was exhausted. We fed the dogs, then went to bed.

Anyhow, DH just informed me that it's time to go, and I'm still in my PJs. He's going to fill the bike with gas, so I'd best get dressed.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

xx

HAPPY TUESDAY!
Sorry I haven't been around much this weekend. I've been reading more than posting, mostly because I've been on my phone, so I don't feel too behind. A quick recap of my weekend.

Y'all already heard about Saturday. Sunday, we got up, had breakfast here (DH made me pancakes), and we took the bike up to Julian. We walked around a bit, I took my pic with a llama (a guy doing a fundraiser for rescued animals), got some lunch at our fav soda fountain...I had a veggie melt, which is basically a 3 cheese grilled cheese with avocado, cucumber, and onions, and DH had a chili cheese hot dog. He had a green river, and I had an old-fashioned grape soda. We walked around some more, then stopped at the old fashioned candy shop on the way out. We made sure to do that AFTER lunch, b/c we tend to go overboard there. They have all sorts of old candies, but we go mostly for their salt water taffy. It's a downfall for both of us. We didn't do too badly, and we've been keeping the snacking at bay since we got home. After we got home, I was exhausted. DH had some more work to do to his bike, and I needed a NAP. So I slept for about 2 1/2 hours. When DH woke me up, my instinct was to stay in for the night, but he suggested we run across the street for some tacos. Sounded good, so we did that. We ate, came home, and I relocated to the couch again. He said "You've been horizontal more than vertical today!" He was right. We caught up on some DVR, and I actually stayed up until 1030 - the latest I've been up in a while.

Monday, we went to breakfast at the omelette house, we split a dish called "The Mess", which is a bunch of scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheeses, meats, peppers and stuff. Also split a side of B&G. I'm actually eating leftover "mess" right now! We came home, paid bills, did paperwork, booked our Chicago tix for next week (niece baptism), and then ran to the nursery to get garden stuff. We had to finish the retaining wall, then we transplanted our tomatoes to a new location where they wouldn't overtake the onions and basil, ripped out my bolted cilantro (we planted it the wrong season), got some replacement soybeans and lettuce (which were destroyed by critters early on), and planted blackberries and green grapes! We released a bunch more "good" snails (those that eat the bad snails). Hopefully, this round fares better. We have a completely organic garden now, and I'd like to keep it that way without adding snail bait.

We went to the grocery, got home, called my folks (who had called while at the store). We ended up telling them our news. Earlier in the conversation, mom had asked how I was feeling...which is her way of asking if we have any IVF/baby updates. I just said "good" and moved on. Much later in the conversation, I just asked them "How do you guys feel about sharing your anniversary?" Mom said "Sharing? With who?" I said "Baby". They were both completely silent for about 10 seconds, then she squealed and Dad said something like "Oh God Bless You", and then lots of chatter, and that was that. We made it VERY clear it was VERY early and they were not to breath a word to one single person until we said it was ok. I think me and DH said it about 10 times. My mom can blab, so can my dad. They were both thrilled, and said they would continue to pray for us.

So, that was that. DH made dinner, because I had to lie down, I wasn't sleepy, just needed rest. We had ham, swiss and tomato paninis (I had some crispy french onions on mine), and a side of edamame. Watched TV until about 930, then I went to bed, DH stayed up a bit, did snail patrol in the garden, then came to bed. Peanut snuck upstairs with me, so that was nice.

Now, here we are...feels like a Monday, though it's already Tuesday! I have all my school done for the week, except a few teeny things which will take no more than about 30 min, so I'm headed out for the day. Probably to the Park for a bit, until I get tired, then need to run to Target. Might stop at the mall and look for shoes for my new dresses too. Nordstrom is having a shoe sale, so that's nice.

Cycle-wise, I'm still bloated, though it's going down quite a bit. DH said my bbs are growing, though I don't really notice too much. They are a bit less sore, so I'm hoping that's not a bad sign. I thought about getting some HPTs this weekend, but didn't. I think I'm too scared that they will come up negative or something. Normal fears, I know, but there are there, nonetheless.

Next Monday is our first u/s at the RE. I'm prepared to see very little, and explained that to DH yesterday. I will be 6 weeks, so there is a very slim chance of seeing much more than a sac and such. I'm still on estrogen and progesterone until further notice, and probably will be for the first trimester. Doesn't really bother me...the only side effects are presumably the bloat, and that's it. The progesterone is messy, but I'm used to it by now. I am just thankful it's not a big IM shot in my behind every day, like my SIL had.

So, that's my update. I'm going to check in with school, get dressed, and head out for a while!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!
xx

Hey Karin, just catching up with your journal! I'm so glad that you got the dress, so cute! I'm glad that your dinner went well and that you don't have much school work to do today. I know you wanted to wait a little longer to tell your parents, but I know I wouldn't be able to wait either!

Just popping in to update. Nothing too exciting going on. Went to the Park for a few hours, it was HOT. I left around 130 and went to Target, where I picked up random sundries and such, but also found a box of FRERs and CBE Digis in my basket Not sure how that happened

Then the vets office called, and Molly's ashes were ready, so I dropped off the Target stuff, and went to pick up my girl. It's good closure for me. They returned her in a tiny little cedar box with a gold plate on top with her name, and took a paw print of her as well, though I took paw print casts of all the dogs last Christmas.

The big news of the day is that I am so freakin tired again. I could barely keep my eyes open in Target, felt the same on the drive to the vet, and I'm still wiped. I needed to check on a few things, then I might have time for a quick siesta before chat/DH gets home. Tonight we are grilling brats (DH job), and I am making a BLT pasta salad for a side. I might also toss together cream cheese corn. I should really cook/chill the pasta now, as well as the bacon for the salad so it's all chilled for dinner time. Maybe then I'll nap.

Hope everyone is having a super day!
xx

Just catching up...I love the dress you got!

I'm glad you had a great weekend and that you had an easy out with not having to really explain why you weren't drinking. That is so exciting to tell your parent and that they are so excited for you!!!

Your food you make always sounds delish!

I hope you get a little more energy soon but in the meantime take advantage of all the naps
