Regarding boobs... I had to throw my bras out. I had lost some weight after I got my bike and had downgraded back to 34D. But all of the sudden my boobs grew overnight. So by 6 weeks I gave up on regular bras and I'm living in sports bras. I'm still torn on what to do. Bc I know that once I deliver and milk comes in that they'll get even BIGGER! Anyway, don't feel bad just switching to sports bras. I know a couple of other women who did the same thing.

I'm so happy that all is well for you. I bought What to Expect and a daily progress book at about 5 weeks, too. I just couldn't resist. Of course I've read What to Expect before.

Nice pics of your tests. I was too scared to keep peeing on tests after I got my positive.

And yes to the peeing extra. For the first trimester your uterus grows on TOP of your bladder. In the second trimester it pops up and you get a little relief. My trips to the bathroom were four a night and have gone back to two a night. Thank goodness!

Jen, these are all great signs.

Thank you so much for continuing to post updates!! It is really very inspiring for me and fills me with hope for the future! I swear I think I cry (in a good way) every time I read your posts just because you waited so long and had your dream come true! I feel like if I am just patient enough, I will too.

No family members know yet. They wont know for a while. Only my sister (out of faimily) knew we were doing MA so ill have to tell her sooner rathr than later but I dont want to put her in the posiion of keeping secrets from people too.

We did have some bad news yesterday, DF's grandad has cancer. He starts chemo in a couple of weeks. His nan & grandad live about 3hrs drive away but are coming to stay with robs parents next weekend. I wonder that maybe DF will want to tell him about the baby if all goes well at the scan (also next weekend). I know they've said that its good he's got the wedding to look forward to in november, so maybe another grandchild in March would help too?

Out of friends, only two of my bridesmaids (two bestest friends) know, they both knew we were doing IUI. They were great, so very excited for us!

Lunch was yummy, I had jacket potato with cheese and beans. Eating more at lunch then small snack at tea seems to be working better for me at the moment. And Nicholle - the beer thing wasnt an issue as I was driving! These days I dont drink very often anyway so hopefully nobody will notice the difference!

Sam - thanks for the info re boobs and peeing. As much as I'm moaning, i'm trying not too as I'm so delirously happy right now!

I do not look forward to the boobage pain again.... When I was pregnant with my twins in 05 (hmm... I got their bfp 8 years ago today LOL)... I couldn't even shower! I'd have to shower in my tankini top... and move it around little by little to shower. Way too sore. A friend who's due on Sunday showed me a nursing bra she's buying.. and I was sitting here thinking "oh that sucker looks comfy.. I might have to order one for AF."

I may as well share the link... not nice to talk about something someone might be able to use and not share.
Wrap Nursing Sleep Bra | Motherhood Maternity

I am of the gigantic boob category anyway... DH wants to get a kitchen scale to see how much they weigh during af because they get SO heavy... and it was even worse during those 9 weeks of pregnancy He's in for a major surprise one day.

So... are you going to be able to still fit into your dress in November?

Oohh that does look comfy...i'm hoping their shipping to the UK isnt ridiculous OR that I an find something similar here. Thank you

I shouldnt have any problem with my dress thankfully. I asked about accomodating a babybump when I bough it and they said that at the extreme they could add an extra panel to the back (it has a lace up back). However I doubt I may even need that, at the fitting the other week I was told not too loose any more weight because it would then be too big as the laces wouldnt go any tighter. So there's still plenty of give. AND i'm hoping not to be too big come November - Ill be what 20 week? A girl can hope right

5wk 3 day

We had a bit of a scare this evening. I've had lower abdominal pain on my left side on and off all day, id considered calling the fertility clinic but decided against it. Well we went out for dinner and the pain came back but didn't go away, nothing excruciating but enough for me to think ouch. Of course I freaked out thinking ectopic. I called the out of hours doctors and they asked me a bunch of questions and decided I needed to see a doctor. I went to see the doctor at 10.30 (who was lovely) and it turns out I have a UTI! She checked my obs which wrre normal, examined my belly and did a urine dip which popped really positive. Shes prescribed my a seven day course of cefalexin, a pregnancy safe antibiotic.

Im a little reassured that the pain has another logical explanation and just hoping the abx work. Im so anxious about everything right now that a uti never even occurred to me, even though I could tell anyone that asked about how utis present symptom-wise. I just freaked out ftom the pain.

Fingers crossed I'll feel better in the next 24hrs or so

Hope the abx work for you!!! Sorry you're in pain, but so glad it's JUST a UTI! Totally manageable in the long run...

*hugs*

That should put an end to the crampy feeling you had! The number of women on JM who get UTI's right after a bfp is crazy high. LOL

Ugh sorry to hear that, but I'm thankful that it was something "simple" like that. Hope you feel better soon -- those suckers are so miserable.

Thanks everyone

5wk 4days

My anxiety got the better of me overnight, I hardly slept a wink. So I called the early pregnancy unit this morning. I ended up having a scan and its definitely an interuterine pregnancy! !! no ectopic

No heartbeat yet but they saw a gestational sac, yolk sac and foetal pole. Since they've confirmed no ectopic today, they've moved my appt back from the 4th to the 9th as it'll give us a better chance of seeing a heartbeat.

Babys first picture (there's definitely only one in there too! )

For those unfamiliar with us scans, the black blob is the good bit!
